Over the last week or so, two celebrities DID THE MOST when it came to using props during their live performances. Nicki Minaj shamelessly rocked a dildo (yes, a dildo) during her performance set in the Providence, Rhode Island show for the I Am Music Tour with Lil Wayne and Rick Ross. The Young Money rapper paraded on stage with the toy enacting sexual behavior.
On the other side of the world in Sydney, “singer” Ke$ha added an outrageous item to her concert performance – a look alike human heart. Get this though. During her performance set, the pop star acted as though she was drinking blood out of a live heart, with blood running down the side of her mouth.
The sad thing is that both stars cater to the PRE-TEEN MARKET and more than likely had a few of their younger fans in the audience.

People make this world go round, I’m thankful to have a child that has some sense, but I bet there are plenty of good parents that have foolish kids, despite their best parenting, chasing after what they see rather than what’s taught at home. Good thing is some grow up to realize mom and dad was right, others not so much.
Plus even the best of em can be tempted to go the wrong route, it becomes easier to do the more accepting our society is towards certain things. So yes any of us can choose do do what we want right or wrong, but there are things that come out of that ability to choose, rather positive or negative/good or evil.

I understand what you are saying, but to be honest everyone who says what you have just said are wrong. Did you listen to everything that your mother said or did everything that she told you to do? Kids are going to rebel no matter what, especially if it’s something “cool.’” Another thing that I have noticed that many people haven’t is that singers and entertainers are role models for children. When people say “These singers/entertainers aren’t role models, I’m tired of people relying on the media to raise their kids,” what they aren’t realizing is that these are mostly children who dream of becoming a singer, athlete, or actor. Everyone who is one of those professionals has someone, in that same business, who they have followed and admired. So if a child, who wants to be a singer, sees Kesha doing crazy ish like this and likes it, and becomes a singer as an adult, she’s going to do the same thing.
thats what i’m saying. Maybe because when i grew up we didn’t have all these outlets for media, but I never looked up to artist. The most i got was the CD’s my mom loved, and she was into Toni Braxton, Luther, things like that. I just don’t get why it’s so hard for parents to interact with their kids, instead of shoving an Ipod in their hands, or putting them in front of the TV? Is it that hard to take your kids to the park go ike riding,turn the radio off with the crazy music when driving in the car and have a conversation, or play something that i kid friendly. I don’t think either one of them cater to younger kids, the parents let them cater to their kids, but not protecting thier kids. If you’re a good parent you would know what Nicki was all about when she started putting out mixtapes, it shouldnt be a normal thing for your kids to listen to her no matter how much you as a grown adult likes her. It really is up to parents to stop up and step out of the box and raise their damn kids again. just because it’s cool to have cable, gagets, and internet doesnt mean you have to let your kids listen. By the way she is on tour with Lil Wayne, Rick Ross…there is no way a child should be at these concerts regardless, and if you taking your kids there, then don’t blame Nicki or Ke$ha for anything, blame your damn self.

As kids get older they stray away from what their parents taught them and they look to the world to learn alot of their “life lessons”. Parents can guide their kids but at a certain age kids start ignoring parents thinking parents dont know any better and so they fopllow those who they think are cool & that they think understand them. Artists being a major influence on kids know that they have a huge influence on society (kids and the young minded adults alike). Instead of letting their TRUE talent shine and finding artistic ways to express themselves they use vulgar, stupid, excessive ways to stand out so they can get quick sales and hide their non-talent having selves. Parents need to raise their children from the beginning so that when they get to this age where they are easily influenced they can bounce back once they fall into the “inevitable” easily influenced situations. Everyone has a role in this whether they choose to admit it or not. As an artist you will always have an influence over others; it comes with the territory regardless of whether you want it or not. That’s the real & complete truth speaking.

As far as them catering to a young audience, you can listen to their lyrics and common sense will tell you that it’s not meant for children. People constantly confuse role models with parenting. You can look up to anybody you want but that does not make you do what they do. It’s the parents job to raise their children, and show them what’s right and wrong.
