Over the weekend, rapper DeAndre Soulja Boy Cortez lost his younger half-brother in a fatal car accident in Charleston, Mississippi on Sunday evening (March 20). His brother, Deion Jenkins, was just 14 years of age. According to the rapper’s twitter page, the 20 year-old tweeted about how sad and in disbelief he is about his little brother’s passing:
A rep for Soulja Boy informed XXLMag.com that the funeral for his sibling has been scheduled for Saturday, March 26. Our hearts go out to Soulja Boy and his family.

@CL i really hate the term “half-sibling”. i think its a terribly disrespectful word. my sister and i have different dads but i would NEVER refer to her as my half sister. i love her wholy because she is my “whole” sister.

I hate watching videos of people like this after they die .. so sad. I’ve never lost a friend or close family member so I can’t even begin to imagine nor do I want to imagine what it feels like. You never know when your day will come so you just gotta make sure you’re livin’ right.

i feel for him but at the same time eff twitter if a family member passed away my last concern would to tweet about it. its just sad who dependent people are to these social networks. my prayers and blessing goes out to him but people need to let go of tweeter its more out there than that.
