Singer/actress Jennifer Hudson covers the April issue of ESSENCE, opening up about her happy family and healthy lifestyle as she prepares to wed professional wrestler David Otunga following her dramatic weight loss.
The Oscar and GRAMMY winner’s next projects include her sophomore album, I Remember Me, which will be released March 22, and new film, Winnie, set to hit theaters later this year.
In order to prepare for her portrayal of Nelson Mandela’s ex-wife, Jennifer spent five days locked up in an African jail after learning Winnie served more than 500 days in solitary confinement:
“(I attempted to) experience some of the hell that woman went through… They snatched her out of her home and she had no idea what happened to her children. Imagine living that? This was her life! This was real. As a woman, I am angry for her, hurting for her. And as a mom? God, being in solitary confinement, away from my son just for five days when shooting those scenes – it was too much for me. I was drained and stripped down. I was changed.”
Check out the latest video from Ginuwine for “Drink of Choice” off his new album, Elgin, which is in stores now. His drink of choice is, of course, adult chocolate milk, a 40-proof vodka-based version of chocolate milk, which he became the spokesperson for earlier this year.
It’s been a minute since we’ve heard anything from international superstar, Beyoncé but some information from sources close to the project say that she will release a brand new single at the end of April, to launch her fourth solo studio album.
According to our friends at BeyonceWorld.net, a fan got a chance to talk with producer Shea Taylor, who worked with Beyoncé previously on her B’Day album. It seems as though he’ll be working on this new project, dropping little hints about the sound and also some collaborations.
Taylor gushed that the new album will have a pop and R&B direction, with lots of live instrumentation, with a modernized ’80′s feel. Shea described the new sound of the album as “Michael Jackson’s music during his prime.” He also said that she will have a collaboration with Kanye West. He said to expect a huge single at the end of April.
Chris Brown joins forces with Big Sean and Timbaland for a brand new track entitled, “Rock, Paper, Scissors,” produced by none other than Timbaland himself.
The track was lifted from Chris’s upcoming fourth studio album, F.A.M.E., which is slated to hit stores March 22nd.
