One year after unsuccessfully selling out shows in five major US cities, Rihanna is now rumored to be faced with the same daunting challenge. During her 2010 Last Girl on Earth tour, the 23 year-old had an issue with low ticket sales in Phoenix, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Dallas and Denver. As a result, those dates were canceled.
According to Page Six, the pop star is still unable to fill a venue for her upcoming Loud tour. Her manager, Jay Brown, has advised her to cancel her domestic shows:
“It has been a big disappointment,” our source said. “The ticket sales in big US cities like Boston are so bad, they will barely cover basics like the lighting and other arena costs. Tour managers are begging local radio stations to do giveaways.”
But in Twitter world, singer Ciara posted a little, sarcastic tweet:

2. i’m not 100% sure but i reckon whoever said rihanna’s more of an international artist than local is right. in australia her concerts sold quite well. although i did notice when i saw her and chris brown a few years ago, 70-80% of the fans there were strictly chris’. she just doesn’t have the stage presence or (sounds cruel but…) talent that many other, more prolific artists seem to have. she should focus more on her international career cause i suspect americans may be getting bored with her. they are notorious for short concentration spans when it comes to famous musicians afterall.
