Vampire Diaries star Katerina “Kat” Graham released a music video in tribute to the iconic Janet Jackson. In the mashup video, the 21 year-old actress/model sings and dances to her mashup cover of Janet’s early 90′s hits “Escapade” and “Love Will Never Do Without You”. The dance-heavy video was choreographed by Laurieann Gibson, with direction by Bille Woodruff and production by Jaala Ruffman.

not only is Janet fine, but she can dance, and she does have some soul in her voice. Even in these songs.. I couldn’t hear the “soul” in the track. Even though she did a good job…you can tell that this was choreographed by someone…Janet dances like she walks…naturally. Good job though.

I think Janet is what personified Pop in the 80s, early 90s, but she’s no sanger. Trust me, I love her & have throughout my entire life, but her singing is more like a whisper. And if I’ve heard her live, I wouldn’t know it b/c with all of her dancing, a lot of it is prerecorded. My point is nothing can take away all of her earned accolades, but truthfully I don’t know if she can sing or not. I always thought that she could sing enough & her other two talents [dancing & acting) made up for it, by making her a triple threat.

This was a nice tribute, and she is not trying to be Janet. Kat herself said in a interview she isn’t the best singer, but she is working to become better. She works really hard, and isn’t trying to get by on her looks, plus she’s smart too. She does what she wants, because it’s she wants to do whether other people like it or not. That’s inspiring.
