R&B crooner Brian McKnight returns following his 2009 release, Evolution of a Man, with new music. “Fall 5.0″ is produced by C.A.T.S and features programming from his sons, Brian McKnight Jr. and Niko McKnight. The track is the first from Brian’s upcoming tenth studio album (non-holiday), Just Me, slated for release July 12 via Hard Work/eOne Music.

Auto tune is different for Mr. Mcknight, in a positive way that is. Very fresh and upbeat. Die hard McKnight fans will STILL pay to hear this, STILL pay to see him perform, auto tune or not!!!!! You rock!!

I think the record is really good. We all know Knight doesn’t need Autotune, but obviously he is trying to appeal to a bigger fan base, because his current fanbase would love the song even without the Autotune. He’s an artist, he’s allowed to try something different right?
Calm down folks, Mcknght has been using auto-tune on his voice FOR NEARLY 12 YEARS the Back At one Album, had a song called “You Could Be The One” , which had a few phrases that were treated in the same manner that was popular at the time with Rodney Jerkins late 90′s early 2000 productions. A good example would be the opening theme to the Moesha spin off “The Parkers” in which Jerkins uses the effect on Countess Vaughn’s voice. Jerkins produced two records on the Back at One album, and the Mcknight produced song “You could be the one”, was similar in form “drum programming wise ” to his sound at that time, so they added the effect to Brians voice to fit popular Radio Format.
If you youtube around a bit you will see that his Sons BJ and Niko, have 6 or 7 songs floating around the internet, and they auto-tune their voices HEAVILY, not as a cruch like most singers but because the both are partial to the T-Pain/Drake sound. Since the most likely produced and wrote a good portion of this song, they probably suggested that their father use the effect too. The brothers are actually very accomplished producers, the younger one Niko is a guitar wizard in the vien of Steve Vai, and Niko is a pretty accomplished composer, who CAN sound exactly like Mcknight, but was able to develop his own tone and sound. Good song though, little borring, but a great record

Song is okay it’ll have to grow on me. I undertand that artist have to ‘update’ with the times so give him a break we all know he has a voice and he is R&B no POP. Neyo hasb’t come out with anything, ginuwine’s last album was nice but no one plays his stuff Kells switched it up too but he’s music isn’t being played.

The song is great. It would have been PERFECT without autotone and for all those who believe he’s trying to appeal to a larger fan base, well, who are you referring to? The last time I check, the same teens/young adults who love auto tunes on their tracks are not headed to Walmart checking for the latest Brian McKnight CD. He has a niche audience; nothing wrong with that, but if he keeps this up, he’ll lose his niche audience as well.
He has a nice voice, but I don’t like autotunes it takes away from a person’s real talent.

I am no spring chicken, I’ve been around the best and I’ve listened to the best and I rate Brian right up there among the best. I’ve met the best and have been back stage . I know my music, when some one try’s a diffrent style the first thing the public say’s he’s a sell out. I’ve marched and had to stand in line a long time to give you young folks the right to voice your opinion, but your wrong about brian the boy’s got gut’s and the pipes, I love the song.!!!!!!!!!!!! you go brian!!!!!!!!!
