So I’m guessing it’s either about Melissa Ford or Superhead??

I feel like Meagan keeps playing the same roles.

Kudos to her for producing and starring in her own movie. But unless she wants to continue to be typecast she really should start to expand her acting portfolio. Sad she keeps playing the same type of role.

I think it’s awesome that she created her own opportunity. BTW, the reason why it’s hard for people to spread their wings and try different roles is because we, the public criticize and bash our own, when we should be supporting them. That effects the bottom line because lack of support + public perception = limited roles available to actors and actresses. I will be going to see it, and if you want to see more BLACK TALENT in a wide range of roles and films, then support them so that they can get there. You’ve got my support Megan.

It doesn’t look as cheaply made as I thought it would. It actually looks like a pretty good film.

Well how do we “support” if their never made. I think plenty of people are all down for seeing our people in different roles and seeing more diverse options in regards to our movies. I dont know if its necessarily the lack of support that is stopping certain actors/actresses from doing the same movies over and over or stopping diverse movies from being made. In this particular case kudos to her for producing her own, but ok SHE created it and yet she chose to put herself in the same cliche “Im gorgeous and hot” role

I can understand where you are coming from…that she is type-casting herself? I disagree, only because the best role that I ever saw Megan play was in Eves Bayou. She was a teenager, yes, but it still showed depth. What I am saying is that the lack of support translates at the box office. I know this all too well as a songwriter for the last twenty years. I do well enough, but the “audience” shifts changes in the market place…supply and demand. So, if we support more small films, the larger companies take notice and fund more films, thus giving actresses like Megan a chance to show character depth.

I was gonna say Meg needs to do better if she wants to be taken seriously but the trailer doesn’t look half bad actually.

I think this is a great start. Blacks in Hollywood must stop waiting on Mainstream Hollywood to recognize them and create their own opportunities. Trust me, I am not in my blame white folks mood because guess what, our own black actors and actresses who are recognized in Hollywood have done NOTHING to create opportunities for other black actors (Halle, Beyonce, The Smiths (only if you’re related). I hope this movie prospers, and I will definately see it.

I agree with you BB and I think it’s awesome that she’s giving herself this opportunity to do something that the major studios wouldn’t cast her in. Hopefully, we get to see more stuff that she’s capable of and I would love to see her expand her acting portfolio. I think she’s a beautiful and talented woman, but she needs more exposure.

Besides “The Game”, I hadn’t seen much of her lately..she did well on that too. I agree that she needs more exposure and I hope that this film gets just that for her. It’s hard out here for anyone in the creative arts.

Aside from the fact that I’m an avid supporter of independent film I think this is going to be a good movie. I had seen the trailer before and can’t wait to see this. It’s good quality and even thought the storyline and plot are typical hollywood fare I commend Meagan putting the effort into her own project. Who knows what the next film will be.

PS. Does anyone know how long it takes to come up with a script (and then make it reality) ??? (It can take Months to years) It’s sad how some of these commentors will diss this film like it took her overnight to do it. Shame.

B-More Rated for nuthin' but tha Goodness

I commend Meagan Good for still hanging in there in the world of acting but this movie looks like a rip off of the movie Gia. If you guys haven’t heard of it, please check it out. Yes, there are plot differences, but Gia is about one of the first supermodels who contracted AIDS through drug use and the role was played by Angelina Jolie. Seriously, the movie looks cheaply made and the acting sub par. I do wish her success in all of her endeavors and I would never wanna knock someone for doing what they love but this movie to me wasn’t that step in the brightest direction. However, I have been wrong before and Concrete Loop please edit your content more carefully because this is the second article I have read with typos.

Don’t know why they didn’t get Karrine Steffans herself to do this, but hey. Film looks a little underbudget, but I might check it out if it comes out my way.

If this were on TV I would check it out, but I don’t think I’ll go to the theater to watch it. I do like that she’s tapping into another side of the business. I wish her luck.

This says a lot about Meagan’s credibility. She created her own opportunity and she got the legendary Ruby Dee to portray a role. I always thought Meagan was a beautiful girl but it seems she is not just another pretty face. Good luck Megs!
