Pop starlet and former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day gives Concrete Loop an exclusive listen to the official version of her Adonis-produced debut single, “Automatic.” Aubrey’s season finale of her Oxygen reality TV show, All About Aubrey aired tonight with her showcasing to labels, along with the release of the new single to iTunes.
O’Day recently inked a deal with SRC/Universal Motown Records to release her debut album, which is slated to drop some time this summer. As seen on her reality show, Aubrey has gone through a journey of ups and downs putting together her solo record after Danity Kane. Although there’s no solid release date, she’s more than ready.

She was definitely the weakest vocalist in Danity Kane, but I don’t think she was put into DK for her voice. Aubrey has star quality, even before Danity Kane was formed she was making moves as a Contestant on MTB. I remember she did that shoot with Blender when she was still trying to make the band, and the girls in the house were sour. LOL! Anyway, the song is okay. It sounds very DKish, and while listening to it I couldn’t help but wonder when Dawn would come in on some adlibs, and Aundrea on second verse. Aubrey’s fanbase was probably like 50% of Danity Kane’s fanbase, so people will buy it. Will she go far, alone? That’s the question.

She’s a big ol Britney knock off. As long as Brit keeps coming back to life, Aubs doesn’t stand a chance. And even when Brit retires, Aubs is fooling herself. She CAN’T SING, and will never capture the audience she would need to do REALLY well because those fans are already loyal to others who’ve been around longer and/or are actually great artists. Aubrey is very interesting, though (not as bad as a trainwreck… she’s improved it seems), and definately has a market in reality t.v. I think, IMHO, she should stick to that. I’m a Brit Brit fan she’s 1 of the best of her time but… Aubrey sings and dances better. Britney has loyal fans and thats why she has gone as far as she has and will continue. Most of us looks to her past for the “greatness”. Plus she makes great relevant pop/dance music. However Aubrey is a different kind of artist and performer.. more urban, has more soul, and stage presence than britney. & She writes!
