English pop singing sensation, Jessie J stopped by NBC’s The Today Show early Tuesday morning (April 12). The 23-year old songwriter debuted her first studio album Who You Are earlier this year and has since then gone platinum in many countries. She is ok. Joss Stone is much better in my opinion.
She did good but the deep voice part is shaky and takes away from the song. It threw me the hell off.

She sounds a lot like Joss Stone to me. I think there is room for both of them to do their thing. Great voice.
I really can’t stand this chick’s voice. She has the ugliest jazzy runs and tries way too hard. It’s funny how so many people bash J-Hud for shouting when Jessi screams and tries to have so much soul. White singers like Joss Stone, Amy Winehouse, and Duffy have pure soul and know who they are. Jessi is an imitator and is all hype. It’s funny how every time there’s a white soul singer, everyone wants to be inside of her p—y, but ignore the black ones. What about Marsha A? She can blow and has been around for quite some time but I don’t see as many people going head over heels for her like they do with Jessi.
BTW, she looks like a drag queen.

yeah this the first time i’ve even seen/heard the b*tch and yeah that loooooooooooove part had me wondering why CL even gave her a spread (i thought they only posted media about ethnic ppl or ppl that in some way, shape, of form are effected or connected to ethnic ppl) … i could be wrong tho…..or maybe they just needed a specific # of stories to post that day
LOVE sounds horribly off key! That is a total fluke because she’s been nearly flawless in every video I’ve seen of her.
I’m convinced this is OFF KEY but it picks up slightly after the bridge. I could imagine a softer, acoustic version of this song being very beautiful.
Right now it sounds very Natasha Bedingfield. It’s just a nature of the beast…you’re going to get compared to other singers in the same lane as you, esp. ones that look like you. It’s very hard to escape that–something Marsha Ambrosius [someone mentioned her above] manages to do. You can tell her influences–Mary J., some neo-soul, etc–but she is doesn’t sound, write music like, or look like anyone else right now.
Sorry to hijack Jessie J’s post but my main point is newcomers, give her another chance. YouTube “Do it like a dude” acoustic and prepare to get chills.

MARSHA IS SO WACK. PLUS HER VOICE IS LIKE RED WINE. IT JUST DOESNT GO WITH EVERYTHING. THERE’ PLENTY OF SONGS SHE DID WHERE IM LIKE. WHAT THE HELL WAS SHE THINKING. SHE HAS A VOICE WHERE SHE NEEDS TO BE MORE SELECTIVE WITH HER MUSIC CUS SHE DONT SOUND GOOD ON EVERYTHING. THERES SOME ARTIST U PUT ON ANYTHING AND IT SOUNDSS GREAT.
