Legendary musician/singer Prince and the New Power Generation The 52 year-old Minneapolis-native stopped by The Lopez Tonight show in his red suede outfit with red suede high-heeled boots, to jump off his 21-day Welcome 2 America. After talking with George Lopez about music, being a vegetarian and other things, Prince performed his latest single, “Laydown” as well as “The Beautiful Ones”. His domestic tour starts on Thursday, April 14 at The Forum in Inglewood, California. Peep his interview and performances below. Clearly this man will never age!

lol, I’m surprised he didn’t storm off the stage after his performance like he normally does. I enjoyed his interview. He becomes more humble with each one. Still wish he would stop blaming about the “youtube” for the reason why he doesn’t make money off his records and let his videos be shown to educate youngins’ on true music. Nice performance. The first song was from his European released about last year 2010 just in case some of you all were wondering, that album was just “ok” by the way.

This man is a GENIUS! Went to the April 14th show last night at the L.A. Forum… 3 hour set with 5 Encore performances! No one has as many hits as Prince who can grab musical attention from all races and ages. FYI.. during the show he said, “Many musicians from my day have aged… But I stayed the same” (before he broke down to a James Brown-like gyration) GREAT!
I was there to. I am going back next week. By the way it was 6 encores not 5….I ended up selling my Janet ticket so I can attend more shows.

Prince plays, writes, produces, and at some point danced… He like MJ sold out a many stadiums. MJ was said to have thought Prince was his competition in an written article so what’s wrong with them being worthy opponents? Dude has so many hits, albums, ghostwritten songs, and features floating around that no one (but him) my really know them all lol. MJ to the person that said he sold out 65 nights at 02. He may have sold it out. But he didn’t live to do the performances. I don’t believe he would have made it through. Prince still holds the record of 21 nights at 02 in a roll not spreaded out.

Prince is one of the last true music superstars along with Janet. Nobody commands a stage like them and has stage presence like them, NOBODY. Michael-Janet-Prince, REAL superstars, not hyped or popular ones.
I was thinking the same thing! I really don’t understand how people can get SO excited about another Beyonce, Chris Brown/autotuned video release but can’t get excited about a REAL musician’s performance. So are we really that into afad/what’s commercially hot that we can’t even recognize true musical talents anymore? I’m not knocking anyone elses talent, but I’m baffled that the majority of us don’t appreciate music – versus just a hot performance.
