AUDIO: NENE LEAKES ‘GETS REAL’ DURING RUSS PARR INTERVIEW

May 4th, 2011

Celebrity Apprentice’s NeNe Leakes got into it a bit with the two co-hosts of the Russ Parr Morning Show. The reality television star talked about what she’s up to from the taping of the next season of the Real Housewives of Atlanta and her acting debut on the musical play Loving Him Is Killing Me.

As the interview progressed, the other Russ Parr co-hosts kept asking her about her being a bully on the NBC reality show. When asked about it for the um-tenth time, NeNe laid it down!

AUDIO: Russ Parr Interview with NeNe Leakes

“It’s really hilarious how people like to pick the bad things out and they have nothing good to say, as in your co-host or whoever’s on the radio with you. I came on your show to interview and you’re just strictly talking about a bully, you haven’t said anything that was positive at all. [...] I don’t like people who don’t like to give out bad information. I mean that’s not cool to give to the listeners. I have a very big heart. I am a very good person and there is nobody that you can talk to that has ever been around me that will tell you anything other than that. That is who I am. Now what you see on TV is TV. [...] Let me get you to understand. I don’t bully anybody. I stand up for what I believe in. I’m very honest and I always tell the truth. I’m not a liar. I’m not manipulative and I don’t stab you in your back because I will stab you in your chest.”

The best part was when one of the co-host made a comment about her being loud and over talking people NeNe says, “…Okay, so what’s your question?” LOL

Nene keeps it real. That stupid lady doing the interview along with Russ made herself look really dumb. Trying to call NeNe a bully. Her feelings were hurt when she put her back in her place.

I totally disagree. I think the lady at the radio def didnt care for NeNe, however she didn’t ask questions that some ppl that dont care for didn’t want to hear the answer to? I think the lady at the radio show was actually getting beat up on by the guys there when she tried to confront NeNe and her actions…

As for NeNe “keeping it real”… I am SO tired of ppl saying that.. The lady is “common” and is classless, period. Who acts like they are on the street in front of a huge company exec? I could go on here, but NeNe needs to learn that there is a difference between being honest and “real, and being ignorant, threatening and bossy.

The lady co-host was in the wrong. She started attacking NeNe verbally, and she got hurt once Nene didn’t back down from her. Russ Parr knew the ladies were attacking…so he tried to get in the middle.

the female cohosts are very unprofessional. they seem very petty and bitchy! WTF was up with all the “bully”talk?!
standing up for one’s self does NOT a bully make!
      They are really annoying

    Seriously

Sorry but Nene is a bully on TV and sounds like one in this interview. She’s always on the defense. You can’t talk about being a nice person in one breath an then talk about stabbing people in the chest! I agree with the female host. The media is actually exploiting Nene so that she can portray and re-instill the image that black women are aggressive, argumentative, and bullyish! Sorry but she needs needs media training. You can stand up for yourself without being so aggressive. But then again, that’s what she gets paid for.

No sweety, yes, they are on the same show, however, when this show is over, Star Jones will go back to her Manhanttan Condo/apt. with the riches that she has EARNED, not by being an ignorant bish..but by hard work. NeNe will continue to do local stage plays and intern on tv shows… Come on now.. They ARE NOT on the same level..and I am no STAR fan, but I am a fan of telling the truth. NeNe doesnt match up period. You can’t compare both careers, you just cant. Yall stans go way too nuts.

I agree with most of these comments, especially SERIOUSLY & REALTALK.
More so, I agree with the ladies from the Russ Parr show. More specifically with this comment-when Nene said she was on the show because her and Star are on the same level. Yes they are on the same show getting the same check, but they are not on the same level. Nene, like she said, is on there for her popularity-not education. In addition, she’s on the show because of her aggressive actions and dominating behavior; which will be beneficially for winning challenges since it’s a competition and to improve ratings. Star, on the other hand, is on there b/c of her educational background in order to win challenges.

I like NeNe because she is honest and she does tell you the truth and how it really is. I have watched Miss Star Jones myself close and she can be very conniving. Which is the reason she not on the View while Whoppi and Sherri Shepherd bask in the checks she wish she still had….she truly on the same level NeNe is on aka=Celebrity Apprentice …gurl bye// I’m ma tell you the last thing you need nowadays around you is someone who is fake!

NeNe can sometime be too defensive, but on the other hand she is making her money. As far as her behavior in front of Donald Trump, so because he has money we should treat him like royalty? He is a 100% grade A asshole!!! He’s the one w/the money and doesn’t always conduct himself in a manner that is deserving of anyone’s respect. As far as her and star being on the same level it’s kinda true because clearly she needed that reality show just like NeNe did. Both earning just got there in different ways. I don’t think we should compare ourselves to other people just focus on what works for you.

I think its funny because i believe both she and star live up to stereotypes. Star can be just as difficult as Nene. Except Star doesn’t act a fool to get her point across. She just belittles people and is very condescending. being successful doesn’t mean you have to be a complete bitch. and being ‘real’ doesn’t mean you have to run up on everybody trynna start a fight. they both are embarrassing to me.

So, are you saying that Nene is a “complete b!tch” and Star is a “partial” one? lol Really? I thought that once you decide to “take it there” it don’t matter how fancy your words are. It’s all coming from the same place. And, the reason Star isn’t acting more of a fool this time around is because she learned a tough lesson and paid dearly for her last episode on the View…The same lessons that Kanye, Donald and Imus had to learn. A bold and brash mouth can get you in trouble. For the time being, Nene is just cashing in on her boldness, but her temperment on that radio shows proves that its unsustainable. Soon, she’ll be like Steven A. Smith (Mr. Brash) and no one will want to work with her. Star had to learn and Nene will learn too. Until then, the most unlikely, ebony-dark sister with Mississippi hips and bug-a-boo eyes is serving it up…rather than returning the favors.

NeNe is a bully and the TV Networks rewards terrible behavior for ratings. NeNe is not advancing for her big heart but rather loud mouth. I enjoyed the females co-host for not kissing azz during the interview.

NeNe says that people are picking the negative things about her and disregarding her ‘big heart’. what’s funny is that nobody knew who she was before the reality show (and thats because she didn’t do anything worthy to be celebrated- thus the term “celebrity”). and then when she did become famous, it was for showing her jackass tendencies on television. what has she done that deserves appreciation?

she thinks the whole damn world is against her when she don’t mean sh*t to not a gotdamn soul. why are these housewives (who are not wives but rather ‘housewhores’) taking the place of philanthropists, actresses, and singers in the spotlight. someone please pull the plug on this b*tch…

Nene is a banga. I hadn’t truly realized it until Celeb Appr (could have something to do with any plastic surgery she got, but it don’t even matter because whatever she bought is now hers). I seriously hope she’s on until the end. (Wouldn’t be surprised if The Donald is noticing the same thing.)

All that said, Nene does need to pull it back a bit. Unfortunately, she’s very sensitive and [overtly] emotional, and that’s not necessarily a good look when you’re trying to come across as the sane and righteous one. That said, I’d still like to get with her.

    to people defending Nene,

you do realize that she has been into with every woman on the Real Housewives of Atlanta? add to that Star managed to remain on the View for 10 whole years

I totally think NeNe is a bully and it’s a shame since we are trying so hard to eliminate bullying from schools, workplaces, etc. She is a poor example of how one should behave, she’s disresptful & hurtful (calling people out of their names), she’s intimidating (always in someone’s face and pointing and daring for them to react), and over talking everyone. I really used to like her, but she is so over the top, and it’s soooooooo unbecoming!

I love NeNe because she keep it 100. People can’t stand it when a person speak up for themselves or tell the truth, which is sad, because people would rather believe a lie before they hear the truth.

I believe NeNe left the show early because of Donald Trump comments about African Americans and President Obama.

As quiet as its kept, Russ Parr does have intelligent mature, adult listeners! Hearing these two female buffoons disrespecting the shows guest NeNe, in what they believe is cute, is a real disappointment. (And your voices sound like horse dung on the air.) These two buffoons intentionally tried to provoke NeNe, calling her names and attacking her, which is downright disrespectful. Its expected for the general public to have a view one way or another, but to have professionals lower their standards in an attempt at being the ones to check NeNe is downright ignorant and in poor taste. I appreciate a good interview, and listening to these two buffoons was a real let-down. Stick to playing music or whatever it is you do, and leave the interviews to the more capable Russ Parr. The only thing you two buffoons have achieved is to validate the stereotype that is placed on African American women by being loud and obnoxious. A real disappointment and certainly not impressive!
