GUESS WHO: WHEN THEY WERE YOUNG

It’s SUPERMODEL/entrepreneur IMAN. The 55 year-old is still going strong, she is pictured above earlier this month at Met’s Annual Costume Gala in NYC.

As of now, she is promoting her Global Chic collection (with HSN) and her very lucrative makeup line IMAN Cosmetics. IMAN is also known for all her humanitarian work with Keep a Child Alive and the Children’s Defense Fund.

OK, she looks amazing however I’m going to need her stylist to STOP showing sooo much forehead. That damn lace front needs to be pulled 2 inches to the front!!!! SO SORRY but so true!!!!

    • Smonty1227

No she doesn’t it’s apart of her heritage to have this forehead.

    • RANA-SXYLDY

I’m sure she is of the same heritage in her baby pic!!! Hmmmm, think about it. Is her hairline on “wayyy-back” in her baby pic??? OK….sooooo…LIKE I SAID, “i think” her lace front needs to be pulled 2 inces to da damn front!!!!

    • Angie

Actually your hairline recedes a little when you get older. But it doesn’t look that different from her baby pic. I’m kinda bothered about her whole assemble looking like beyonce in 2005. remember when she wore that gold jumpsuit thing.

I`m glad that CL showed this picture of Iman as a child, because so many people think that all black Africans look alike, and they don`t ,not all Afrricans are dark, with big lips and a big nose, they can be as light as a white person, and have naturally straight hair, small noses, lips and they are 100% black, not mixed with white, not just in East Africa or Ethiopia ,but all over Africa, we don`t see pictures of them, because the media always shows us images of black Africans in movies and mags ,as being very dark with big noses and lips, that`s just one of many diverse and different ways, but not the only way ,that black Africans can look,so big ups to CL for posting Iman`s childhood pic.

I’m sorry but you do realize that Ethiopians came to be because of interracial mating with Italians. So that makes them bi-racial. The Native Africans of Africa in most cases did look just like what you described in their purest forms.

    • Claudia

And not all dark black people have big noses and big lips. What is your problem?

    • Unknown

      @ MICHELLE OF CHELLBELLZ

You are absolutely false, the Italians never colonized Ethiopia (they failed and were only there for 5 years) and therefore did not spawn Ethiopians. Ethiopians, and other NE Africans, are indigenous Africans and are part and parcel of the much more broader and extremely diverse African phenotypic variation (genetic and phenotypic diversity both is highest in Africa). Tishkoff et al. 2009 was the most detailed autosomal study on African and American-American genetic ancestry and according to them Ethiopians and NE Africans are on average only 3% non-African. That’s nothing.

“The Afrasan speaking Ethiopians sampled were cumulatively (Fig.5B) found to belong to: 71% in the “Cushitic” cluster, 6% in the “Saharan” cluster, 5% in the “Niger Kordofanian” cluster, 3% each in the “Nilo-Saharan” and “Chadic Saharan” cluster, while the balance (12%) of their assignment was distributed among the remnant (9) Associated Ancestral Clusters (AAC’s) found in Sub-Saharan Africa.”

African-Americans were on average 87% African and 13% European. 0% Native American; so much for that “Indian” blood.

Iman is Somali btw, one of the most purest and genetically “isolated” tribes in Africa.

Bella, I’m not sure what type of complex you have, but you really need help. No one mentioned being dark skin with big lips and nose, so why did you bring it up? There isn’t anything wrong with having those characteristics, it’s apart of your ancestry and you should be proud to be create in the image of GOD. Also, I’m Afro-Latino with big lips and a big nose and I love it. Anyway, Iman is Gorgoeus. Add me, twitter.com/Amar_Menes

*two snaps* for Unknown. Educate these fools!

    • Rock

This comment is very, very ignorant. I think someone needs some self-love therapy. Smh

  17. Miss Lady

I was right!!!!! I’m East African so I could tell. And cuz it’s in B&W it kinda gave away her age. LOL. Love Iman for reppin the horn of Africa the way she does :)

  18. N.O.Finest504

I knew this was Iman!!! She still has that beautiful skin! But I am not liking the gold all-into-one! She is rockin’ what may be bronzer (too much) which is bringing in that extra sun that’s being shown- This looks Beyonce’ circa the Golden Globes/Academy Awards

  19. Lalalove

I knew that was a Somalian from the forehead and features. Knew it was Iman cause she’s like the only Somalian in HWOOD.
