No shade at Beyonce. But, on a serious note, it’s so ironic how we’re just now hearing about this particular award. Rihanna is being nominated for 18 categories on that night. Sure, she’s not going to win all 18 awards. But, the fact that she’s nominated for that many is outstanding for someone who’s only been in the business for 6 years. Beyonce was nominated for 15 and took home 7. Beyonce is not trying to let Rihanna upstage her. I believe that’s what this is. Because, up until now, I have never heard of a Billboard Millenium Award. I looked up Michael and Mariah’s accolades and don’t see it listed at all. And, even “if” it does exist, why couldn’t she have been presented with it a year or two ago? Why now, all of a sudden? When her dad used to manage her, he was on the Grammy Committee. So, trust me when I say, he definitely had a hand in helping her win some of those awards. The timing is suspicious to me. I’m just saying.

The Billboard Awards stopped around 2006-2007 hence why she is receiving her due award NOW! When her last album was out, there was no Billboard Awards, in 2008. She was about to attend the show because she was scheduled to perform, either or not receiveing an award. Google is your friend.

Beyonce finds ways to stay relevant and the Billboard Awards are no exception. With there being literally no promotion of Run The World since its release (with only a couple of teaser video clips), she’s made no usual tv circuit appearances or anything. Now you have to think about the Billboard Awards. There has been no broadcast since 2006. The 2007 show was cancelled, and therefore this year will mark its first appearance. This means the viewership will be EXTREMELY high and appropriately Beyonce will debut the single which means more exposure.

The thing about Beyonce is that she’s overrated and not one of a kind. She can sing and move, but I really don’t see how she’s some wonderful dancer and an amazing singer. There are many singers such as Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Carrie Underwood, Leona Lewis, and many more who can sing way better than she can and there’s never anything fascinating about her music videos. She has never had a solid and memorable album either. She always gets lucky by releasing pop ballads when the urban singles are making the album not sell as much as she would like it to.
This is the same one who was nominated for categories that she didn’t deserve to be in at the Grammys and she was nominated 2 times in several categories at the BET Awards a couple of years ago! There is a such thing as the “Billboard Century Award”. And, this is the “highest” honor for creative achievement. So, if this is the “highest” award, then there is no other award that can come before it. So again, where did this, “Billboard Millennium Award” come from all of a sudden, and why are we just now hearing about it? All of these wonderful artists like Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Prince, etc. should have been given this “so called” award a long time ago. Those artists are “legends”. And, they deserve it. Beyonce is an excellent singer and a great performer, but a “legend”? She still has a ways to go before she reaches that status in my opinion. Think about it, up until now no one has even heard of this, “Billboard Millennium Award”. That alone makes it that much more suspicious. Do the research and you will see what I’m talking about.
