Lil’ Wayne premieres his video for his latest single, “John,” featuring Rick Ross. The track is the second single from his ninth studio album, The Carter IV, which will be Wayne’s first release since being released from prison. The clip was directed by Colin Tilley, who has been responsible for directed several videos for some of the top artists in hip hop and R&B. The Carter IV is set to hit shelves June 21st.

Jill Scott and Common performed her poetry at The White House’s annual Evening of Poetry event Wednesday night. Jill performed titled “Womanifesto” which will be featured on her upcoming album “The Light of the Sun” and Common (who received some backlash for his appearance) opened his portion of the event with words from Martin Luther King Jr. He spoke about the challenges crime and violence pose for children and celebrated the rise of Barack Obama.
