CL MUSIC EXCLUSIVE: BEYONCE – “BEST THING I NEVER HAD (ORIGINAL VERSION)”

June 28th, 2011

♫ Beyoncé – Best Thing I Never Had (Original Version)

On what fans have dubbed King B Day, Concrete Loop gives an exclusive listen to the original version of Beyoncé’s current single, “Best Thing I Never Had.”

We got the scoop that this is the original track that Babyface intended his contribution on the album to go on, which has a very ’90′s, up-tempo feel. The album version of the song, however, is produced by Symbolyc One and Shea Taylor.

Beyoncé’s new album, 4, hit stores today.

Yes! They should have went with this version!! I’m diggin’ the ’80s drum kit sample from Doug E Fresh & Slick Rick’s “The Show.” It’s simple, yet smooth. For me, the piano in the album version is a little over the top, especially in the chorus section. It has that modern-day Vanessa Carlton vibe. Hopefully, there will be a download link for this version. *wink wink*

This version is FanMade, The demo had no vocal mixing and only a piano + drums.

I like this one much better, but they had to balance out all the R&B tracks on there, so I can see why they went with the pop version, but damn this version is HOT.

I am glad she went with the single version. better version, this sounds like singing on top of a beat. The single version gives the song more life, letting the words breathe.

The single/album version is better. And Bey is slaying the charts. Run The World went to number one one the Billboard Dance/Club charts. King B! Bought the album too!

I like a little of both… this for the vocal, the other for the epic production.

Im not a fan of Bey or do I dislike anything about her

She manages to stay on top because she works extremely hard to maintain her position—every single album she’s produced this mama allows several songs to be released @ once which is a huge plus for her

Said it many many times…you may not like her…her music or her acting ability but she’s earned her right to be on top…

Well she changed it, you have no idea how many songs she changed (instrumentals, vocals…) and turn them into the album versions… I like the album version better

I like this version way better. I think “Best Thing I Never Had” is one of the weakest records on the album. It’s the track that shows the least depth and growth.

I feel like the vocals on both versions are great but something doesn’t mesh between the music and vocals on both versions IMO.

HELL TO DA NAW, thank the lord they chose the other one, this beat is too damn simple for the melody, and does not even go with the melody sometimes

    ON 2 THE NEXT 1

NOT FEELIN’ THIS 1. I WOULDN’T BE ABLE 2 TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY BECAUSE THE BEAT TAKE’S AWAY FROM THE LYRICS. THIS SOUNDS MORE LIKE A PARTY SONG 2 DANCE 2. I’M NOT THAT CRAZY ABOUT THE ALBUM VERSION EITHER. BUT, IF I HAD 2 CHOOSE B/TWEEN THE 2, I WOULD GO WITH THE ALBUM VERSION.

That doesn’t even look like her in the pic. She looks like Ciara with a blonde wig on. As for the song, um….no. The beat sounds too much like Doug E. Fresh’s song, “The Show”. The beat was distracting me from the lyrics. I’m glad they left it the way they did on the album. The piano makes me think of Bruce Hornsby song, “The Way It Is”.

This is not real its Fan made …they used the acapella version and put a beat to it…although its sounds okay this is not something Beyonce would do

I paid $32.67 for a XBOX 360 and my mom got a 17 inch Toshiba laptop for $94.83
being delivered to our house tomorrow by FedEX. I will never again pay expensive
retail prices at stores. I even sold a 46 inch HDTV to my boss for $650 and it
only cost me $52.78 to get. Here is the website we using to get all this stuff,
