International entertainer Beyoncé headlined the Glastonbury Festival on Sunday evening in England. The singer made history as the first female act to headline the annual festival in 19 years in front of over 100,000 of the festival attendees. That was the first thing that I noticed when she was about to perform. In another performance that she did recently, (I forgot where it was), she had a pink triangle behind her. The pink triangle is an international symbol for gay pride and the gay rights movement. So either Beyonce is telling us that she supports the gay lifestyle or that she’s gay herself. It could be both. Obviously, the triangle was there for a reason. Alot of artists don’t want to be associated with the illuminati stuff, but yet they keep doing things or displaying things associated with it in their work. I have always been on the fence with B, but her performance yesterday blew me away. Her whole set was great. Playing after Coldplay, who killed the show the night before, she held her own. She also managed to convert alot of cynics who feel Glasto should only be a rock/indie rock festival.

Good advice. I’ve stopped looking at Beyonce LONG time ago. I think it was after she started claiming she wrote songs that were really “ghost written”. (Survivor, etc) And you’re right about record companies. Beyonce is a decent talent (at best) with huge record company support. That’s how she got so many Grammys. I thought she did amazing. Maybe because I got to see the whole set in its entirety. Sure it is the same Beyonce that we see all the time, however she does it well. She gives an energy, and a quality that one can’t get from many out there (That night she was incredibly happy and giddy so there was a lot more radiating off her). They should have done her first at the BET Awards, get her out of the way. Kelly’s performance was amazing as well. Please stop comparing Beyonce and Kelly…the girls disbanded and all embark on 3 different paths sonic, imagery and artistry-wise. It’s pretty much been like that from the start: Kelly went R&B/alternative; Beyonce went more so pop route; Michelle went gospel/Broadway. All three girls have bestow themselves equally and individually in the aforementioned areas. But, I guess there will always be some comparisons since they all were in a group together/have family ties etc but there is no need to pin one against the other especially since all are on total different levels. First of all,I like Kelly and Beyonce. However, Kelly is getting a lot of hype because this is something new for her! She has been the underdog for a very long time. Now people are seeing that she really can hold her own. Don’t forget,people overseas love Kelly,too. I’ve seen her on youtube performing in front of thouands (google it).Kelly did great last night. People were doubting her, but you have to give the girl credit; she did well. As for Beyonce, we all ready know what she can do (good performer) and about to do! There’s no excitement there after you have seen an act over and over again. She’s good, but even the good ones get boring sometimes. Her performance was boring comparing to what she can do! Kelly on the other hand did something different that got people talking!

Totally agree. Beyonce is a good performer but people really over-hype her as an artist. Kelly proved that wwhen given the opportunity, she is just as good (perhaps even better) than her former band mate. Baby she is worth the hype. We constantly seeing lacklustre performances from so called chart toppers and you have to appreciate the energy and talent behind this woman. No matter what you believe about her PR team being the best in the world, she still has to get on that stage and work her butt off which she does. Its a different story when u have fans that worship and artist you continuously bombs and cannot string 2 notes together. I dont even need to mention these people its so irrelevent because there are so many. I will not hate on Kelly because i think she has the talent but you simply cant compare her to Beyonce. That woman is a force. Kelly’s vocals throughout the years have left a lot to be desired and Beyonce always carried the vocals in the live performances with good reason. Kelly does not have a lot in her repertoire with regards to vocal ability. For me she is really a one note singer. I still dig her but she cant compare. You made my point by mentioning artists that can move really well but their vocals were and are not there strongest assets. RIP Aaliyah. Love me some Baby Girl.

Every artist have their own performance styles and Beyonce has found hers. Now when you say the “same”, yeah it’s the same style bc it’s her stage style now. Now from what I heard the people who attend these shows are not usually big on pop/ rnb artist. Therefore they most likely never been to her shows. So for alot of them it was their first time seeing her perform so nothing was repetitive to them. I think it’s a good thing, but why do people expect so much out of her. But when she kills, people are still ready to discredit?

What happened to the real Beyonce? Once a precocious young girl witty clever and able to form an intelligeable statement something about her now does not seem there. She always had that countryness about her, yet she seems no longer there. Mom always glued to her in interviews, yet she consistently comes off as a pile of bricks. Always overly worked, tired, constantly bruised like a whipping girl,she is just different. And to think of it she was never really likable, yet her talent and honesty brought her supporters. Now she is scripted, moulded and guarded, yet seems to have a magical hold on her stans, spell binding almost, I mean I’ve seen ppl faint in her presence, I truely hope that she’ll be able to live in her skin once she retires, there is something diff about her than all her peers, and to be honest it’s very chilling!
