Solange Knowles celebrated her 25th birthday at LAVO nightclub on Friday night (June 24) in Las Vegas. Before the festivities she wrote a message to her twitter friends:

I hate her look. I like the dress & the shoes but I dont like them together. I’m not feeling her make-up at all, Her hair is just ok…& I know them damn braids are heavy as hell.

But forreal though, I understand that Solange be trying to be diferent and everything and I’m all for it but I just haven’t been feeling her style lately. I love her music but she be looking like a banshee. You can have a style of your own and still give DIVA but Solange be just giving me the “I got high and decided to throw this together” look. It almost seems like she tries too hard to NOT be like Beyonce or Tina.

Hair would have looked better if they were crowned beautifully like Goddess braids. These look like some “my neighbor Shay-shay little cousin who trying to get her cosmetology license kitchen braids” did these. And, still need practice!
The box braids could have worked in a different way, not the high-to-the-side ponytail. The Africanesque shoes don’t go with that dress. The dress (Alexander Wang) has a disco vibe to it. Shoes are too structured for such a dress. But I am a fan of her personal style regardless.
Well I like the hair. I am 36 so I remember those braids. They are cute but they can be heavy. I hate the shoes with that dress. I hate the shoes period, now the shoes look dated. I love the dress and the hair.

Love her Boho Box braids, love the dress, poor shoe choice, the red lip does not compliment the look on this look she should have done more of an intense eye and a softer lip. It was a good suggestion on the orange lipstick to compliment the nail color however A nice nude with a hint of color would have worked better the red does not work the shoes do not compliment the cut of the dress. I would like to have seen slightly larger earrings or none at all… I think the flash of the camera is also washing her out…
