Check out the brand new single from Beyoncé, “Best Thing I Never Had.” The track is the official second single, lifted from her forthcoming fourth studio album, 4, which is slated to hit stores June 28th in the United States.
The track was written by Babyface, Beyonce, J. Que Smith and Tony Dixon, and was produced by Symbolyc One (responsible for Kanye West’s “Power.”). Fans initially though she would release the powerful ballad “1+1,” however it was announced on Pittsburgh’s Kiss 96.1 that “Best Thing I Never Had” would impact radio today, June 1st.

I’m not surprised about this. Lately, Beyonce has been giving off a “very aggressive” vibe about herself that is not feminine at all. I also remember a rumor that was going around about her “getting it in” with the female bassist of her band. My belief is this, a rumor is not a rumor without some truth to it. Especially, when it’s a rumor that will not go away. People will find it hard to believe that Beyonce could be anything but “straight” because she’s such a highly feminine woman. Don’t get it twisted, some lesbians are not just tomboys and butches. Highly feminine women who are lesbians are classified as, “lipstick lesbians”. That very well could be Beyonce. If she and Jay-Z are both gay, they are just “beards” for one another. Maybe that’s why alot of people feel their marriage is fake. The vibes that they give off can not be disputed. Consider me certified then…Rachelle Ferrell is a musicial genius and probably the most gifted vocalist of our generation. She’s in the jazz world but has a vocal range that rivals Mariah Carey’s. She will blow you away and move you out your seat all without the need for dancers and props. THAT’S a genius.

Not feeling it. Unlike most, I am not impressed with her vocals. She sounds too high pitch and wining most of the time. Bey is a performer; not a true vocalist and not an artist. She performs and entertains the masses with her over the top stage persona all while reenacting the works of real artists. It’s only the truth.

This song was average. Maybe you all set the expectations too high for her, or we know she can come better. She should let other artist do these type songs. Not the Beyonce i’m looking for. Im a beyonce fan, but this song is average at best. It just sounds like generic fluff and if it weren’t for beyonce singing this no one would pay it any attention. I think her camp is rush releasing it just because run the world is taking slow to catch on. However many ppl i know who didn’t like it at first, love it now. Girls sounds like nothing else out on the radio and is the most daring single she has released in her career. I think the 2nd single should have been End of time–simple lyrics, with an awesome beat and a great vocal performance. This song is overwrought and oversung. At this point in her career she doesn’t really need smash #1 singles to sell records. She should be trying to set trends, not doing what shes done before at a lesser level.

I’ve studied music and music theory, I’ve written songs and written songs for others. I do independent work. So I think that classifies me as a vocal critic. Anyone who’s studied music can be a vocal critic…and here’s the best part: anyone that LISTENS to music can be a vocal critic. When I hear Beyonce, I hear a trained singer. She sings very technically. Very little emotion or a lot of forced emotion. You can tell the difference between a trained signer and one who did not have training but has the natural gift of it. Beyonce to me is not the best singer and I’ve heard way more better than her, even those that were trained. But that’s my opinion. To come on here and say people have no right to voiced an opinion or offer criticism because they’re not vocal critics is dumb as hell. The music industry relies on the average person to like what they are putting out and selling it. Why go through all that trouble for people who are not “music executives” or “vocal critics”. You don’t have to be either to like what you like and know a good vocalist when you hear it. The ones that need to shut up and go away are the ones who can’t stand to read something negative or critical of their favorite artist. This is not a fan site so it’s not going to be all worship and praise. If that’s what you want to hear, go to the fan sites.

I’m sorry but this song is just awful. This is why I will never understand why people hype her voice up so much. She can sing, but she over sings and doesn’t have the best voice. Wow, she sounds so deep and she’s shouting. It’s funny because GRTW wasn’t that great, but it had it’s good moments. I don’t think it was that bad, but this right here is not good whatsoever. Plus, it’s too dated and dull. Mainstream doesn’t want to hear this. They want to hear pop/electronic upbeat hits or pop/reggae mess.

I just don’t know about this album….so far either don’t like the songs or im like its whatever…… i love b but she has way better material that i have heard leaked like control and black culture……i think this album will grow on me but this is not her best work.
