Former Danity Kane starlet and one-third of the group Dirty Money, Dawn Richard has been taking to her Twitter to release new music. Check out the new track, “Stuck On Mad.”
Dawn has announced that her major solo debut will be release in a trilogy. The first installment of the trilogy, GoldenHeart, is slated to be released some time this year, with BlackHeart and RedemptionHeart to follow. This seems a little ambitious, considering that it will be her first time out as a solo artist.

Yes about the voice but then she has odd moments of brilliance. She just needs to find some kind of consistency and a sweet spot but high notes are definitely not it for her, I really don’t see them in her future.

The idea of this song actually grew on me, just hate that I cant make out the lyrics thanks to her mumbling/overtechnicallyenhanced vocals. Way too much going on on this track but I like that she is trying to carve out her own sound and not going the safe and easy (DKesque music) route like Aubrey. Its safe to say Diddys interest in this girl died along with DK & Dirty Dicks so I don’t anticipate his assistance financially or collaboratively. I wish her luck and hope that she has people around that will tell her when her shit is wack.

The thing I love about Dawn is her voice. The things that she does vocally are amazing. This record is not a single, which is good because it’s not a strong record. It’s just okay. I need to hear something stronger. If she could find the perfect balance between DK’s sound and Dirty Money’s sound, she should be set.

People need to stop hating on Dawn. Anyone heard Novacane by Frank Ocean? Yeah she wrote it for him. She is a great writer, and an amazing vocal producer. No one else in the industry sounds like her. People say Brandy but I dont hear it or see it. Dawn has surpassed Brandy long ago.
