I like the show becz of the storyline, but LisaRaye is not a good actress & has this ghetto attitude no matter what role she plays, Stacy Dash acts like a bobblehead, just like she did in Clueless, but I love their style.
I agree with you 100% about Stacy Dash acting how did on Clueless. It is a good storyline but the acting needs a lot of improving. Pilar Sanders acting was better than the main characters. I will continue to support though because its something other than reality tv, which I am sick of.
I LOVE the show!! I personally think that we live in a time where reality TV has taken over everything, though they even are CLEARY scripted. So, when a sitcom does come along, people don’t know how take it seriously. There has been more programming going on than with black women. You appear programmed as some black men that speak negatively toward their own women. When white women date like on sex in the city, they are not being whores but just dating. Seems you are programmed, just like the black guy married to the white chic on the show- he thought he had a queen and put her on a pedestal like many programmed black men and he got played, that’s what he gets. My brother the same, dated a white chic and acted like she was a god and all of a sudden black women this and that, boy even dissed the black food he grew up on, when black women were with him when he didnt even have a car. He found out too his queen was not the god he treated her to be and now divorced. That is my point about the show, it feeds this stereotype and its not a true reflection of whats really happening in the average dating scene for black women. Its brainwashing that black is pitiful

Black men like you still being plantation program, white is better and white is right and you are gullible to it. That’s why I have no sympathy for the black husband that got played, thought he had a god and was doing better and got his bubble burst. Just like my own brother that when he started dating a white girl and then married her, all of a sudden black women and black food was this and that. Reality was black women was with him when he didnt have a car! He forgot his head still nappy and his kids will still be black at the end of the day and he found out his white queen was not the god he thought she was and divorced too. If I was the producer of this show I would fire the “white girl whatever her name is and peplace her with Britney Danielle from White Chicks & The Game. Stacey kind of bugs me with her overacting self. Lisa Raye is always the same and every movie she does but i like her character the best on this show. Why because she seems real. Stacey character seems fake, and the white girls role is not big enough. They should have added a latino to the mix. (2 black girls, white girl, and Latino to appeal to a larger audience).

The main problem with the show is the acting. The acting is terrible so the will not last. Lisa Ray’s acting is not even one-dimensional, she is just ghetto, and whenever she has to recite a line that is non-ghetto it comes out forced. Stacey Dash really has not had to be a lead character before so with this show her lack of technique is more obvious. I don’t know who the white girl is on the show but her acting sucks too.

My mother and I love this show. Its a good story line n on top of that I thought it was me when it came to the acting cause its not all that great. But I look past it cause I like stacy dash n lisa raye n I dont know who the white chick is. But with all the special guest like eve to chille, common, pillar n so much more im like hell yea cant get no better than this. But if I give in more hope maybe their acting will advance a little more.

I decided to watch the first episode online to see what everyone is talking about and when it comes to acting, if the acting is even remotely amateur-ish I’ll refuse to watch the show no matter how great the story line etc is BUT this was actually tolerable. KC/Casey or whatever is the WORST though as well as April’s husband and Woody – they can barely act. April’s acting was the most believable. The shows better than I thought it would be ..

Like the show, love to see their clothes and I am trying to find out where in the ATl those clothes come from, especially Stacey Dash- go girl! Why is the white girl the only one married? I am not liking a black show starting the black women out on the busted side and the white chic on the high in demand side, that is not reality. Plenty of black men checking for black women. I still get approached by plenty of black men that are really looking for someone and they desire their own women. Most of my neighborhood is black married couples. i really think this image is really bogus. Black men will never not desire black women because it is against what comes natural. Against how God made them. He made a counterpart to every man and made their women with attributes that their mates desire- reason why full booties are in and full lips are in everywhere because more black men are attracted to those traits no matter who they are with. My point is those images of black women wandering aimlessly in the world undesired and hard to pin a man down is untrue just as the misconception of black beauty. Its easy to make your race appear more desireable if you hide the beautiful women of other races in magazines and dont hire them for modeling or acting jobs that will put their beauty on mainstream. Its cheating because you make yourself look like you the only one but you hide the others. And a small group of black men and others buy into this illusion. All the pretty black women at colleges, etc but no one knows about it in mainstream bc they push it down so no one can see. This show needs to reflect reality and not buy into that illusion as I see or it will turn off your main audience- black women who have power in their opinion and pocketbooks. I wont watch it for long if the black woman always on the busted side, because its not a true reflection. You have the opportunity to influence this and instead choose to buy in and cater to it. Got to do better!

That doesn’t sound like high demand to me. When watching the show, I found that the men were gravitationg more towards Keisha and Val. The series is a drama. If this show revolved around the lives of happily married characters, viewers would be less likely to watch. Why do you think these messy reality shows are so popular??
I don’t believe the creator of the show set out to make this a “realistic” program or to provide role models for young women. She wanted to attract an audience that likes to watch a show full of problematic situations in hopes that the audience would be entertained and would anticipate the next episode. The show you would appreciate would probably be a less exciting and predictable one.
I think I am confused as to why you would expect a drama-free, show about the successful lives of married black women on VH1… Tyler Perry films and shows would probably be a better fit for your preferences.
@carmelapple I agree with you that’s why I will not watch this show. I know plenty of black women, who are married my sister, and aunts all successful. Also what are we teaching young women about dating, and being single. The show is unrealistic.
Yes, they need to show that black women that wont sleep with a guy without exclusivity and a real relationship like many of us are doing. They need to show the black woman that is average and getting plenty of dates, a serial monagamous black woman. There needs to be one or 2 more women on the show to reflect more of the true reality. Maybe they will add them later.

Most importantly you say “what are WE teaching young women about dating and being single”… Is “we” supposed to be a show full of fictional characters?? Message to Queen Latifah.. Listen to your fans please. I agree the caucasian girl should be replaced by another caucasian actress. Britney Danielle would be a good replacement because she can act for one, and two she ain’t working on the Game anymore. We seen her in Little Man, and the game and think she fabulous. Alyssa Milano, Eliza Dushku, Denise Richardson, Carmen Electra, Lucy Liu, Eva Mendez should all be considered. I also agree that Stacey acting needs to improve if she’s going to be the lead, but Lisa’s is decent. Adding a latina or asian chick to this show would be a great addition.

Your actress suggestions are way off. First off, Denise Richardson, Eva Mendenz, Luch Liu and Alyssa Milano are too high caliber for this type of show. Eliza Dushku, Rick Fox’s Girlfriend has not acting range at all. She cannot act. Eliza is not big fan of this show especially when her man Rick Fox is acting opposite of fine looking women to remind her of what she is not working with.
