This time around, Chris Brown and Sammie take their stabs at Drake’s track, “Marvin’s Room,” much like JoJo and Teyana did earlier this month.
Chris is promoting his new album, F.A.M.E., with his current single, “She Ain’t You,” while Sammie is currently working on his third studio album, Coming of Age, which is slated to be release some time this year.

i pray that this is the last batch of Marvin’s Room covers cuz i’m done. Sammie can sing but he runs entirely too much and expected better from Chris, but i like the girls version better.

I LOVE Chris Brown…but Sammie’s version was a lot easier for me to listen to…I didn’t even make it to the first verse of Chris’ before I said “NEXT” and sat and listened to Sammie’s entire version.

Drake took something most of us do (drunk dialing our ex’s) and flat out put his feelings into song. Drake seemed to put his pride aside and let his insecurities show a little, while both Chris Brown and Sammie stayed within that idea, but made the lyrics so generic and typical of what a person expects out of today’s R&B where Drake, I feel, really did something different with the lyrics and delivery.
But between Chris Brown and Sammie’s version I have to say that Chris Brown’s version is better. Sammie seemed to try emulate Trey Songz’s vocals. Sammie never sang like that before, and while its good, its too close to Trey Songz’s style that I can’t listen to it. Also, even though both of the remixes lose the original feel of the song lyrics for me Chris Brown’s lyrics on his remix stayed closer to the original feeling that Drake’s version had.
I really don’t like either compared to Drake’s, or even JoJo’s, version, but Chris Brown’s is better than Sammie’s.
Side note – JoJo’s remix is by far the best remix of all the recently released remixes of this song and is on par with the original in terms of originality of the vocals and lyrical content.

It kind of makes me sad when I see the lack of creativity in some of these remixes, like they just take Drake’s flow and run with it. there should of been a option on the poll saying “I’ll stick with the original (Drake)”
So Trey Songz sounds like SAMMIE!, Cuz Sammie has always sang like this, I was wondering who Trey sounded like but couldn’t put my finger on it. But neither one of the efforts worked for me.

Is it just me, or does Sammie sound just like Trey Songs???
Sammie’s mixtapes and EP from the last year or two have been really good. He’s a strong writer and vocalist. I just don’t get that from this.
I think his lyrics drop the ball. Drake is about drunk dialing, Sammie just seems kind of bitter about losing his girl..it seems plain. He is using more vibrato (like Trey Songz) then he normally uses.
I’m bored with his.
Sammie’s rap is good though.
Chris Brown’s version has WAY too many people on it (Kevin Mccall, Seven, and Dawn Richards). The song should be intimate. It’s too planned with all the backing vocals, ad libs and the sily rap…Kmac says ‘WEENIE”
I do like that unlike Drake, Sammie, Teyana, Jo Jo, Skye Townsend’s version Chris Brown has a COMPLETELY different perspective. He’s singing as that new guy that everyone else is singing about.
He’s singing from a place of vulnerablity as well (staying true to the original with that) he’s trying not to be threatened by the old boyfriend who is trying to come back and comparing himself to him.
Sammie version is way better than chris version but JoJo trumps all versions including the original. I’m a Sammie fan, a die hard fan but Umm JoJo murdered the track. I have no idea what chris was thinking. Sammie switched it up but I’m still feeling JoJo’s version the best.

Both did pretty good jobs. I was leaning towards Sammie but the runs Chris did at the end was good. Also Chris has a very distinct voice, I wouldn’t be able to tell that was Sammie singing without someone telling me that it’s him.

im such a die hard cb fan but in all honesty, i have to say that JOJO’s version was better than teyana’s, chris’ and sammie’s. she has the BEST version of the song so far.! her lyrics were better and she seemed to have more sincere feelings than all of the other ones. sammie’s voice in his sound so immitated. like he’s trying to be like trey songz. chris version was alright but i was expected something EPIC from him. im still #teambreezy tho.

I liked both versions but I liked Sammie’s a little bit better because I like the tone of his voice more. However, I didn’t like his Michael Jackson impersonations at the end of every word he sang. That was unnecessary! lol But, I give them both their due.

Chris sounded good but I’m gonna say Sammie’s version was better. I was more interested in the story behind it and while everybody is heart broken and not doing anything Sammie is ready to whip ass! I like that!!

Sammie Sings WAY better than chris brown. point blank period. Chris brown is a dancer with a studio voice and sammie is the opposite. Sammie wins this one, hands down.
