Check out the first look at the upcoming film, Red Tails, based on the Tuskegee Airmen, the nation’s first black military airmen during World War II.
Directed by The Wire alum Anthony Hemingway, the George Lucas-produced film reunites series’ cast mates Tristan Wilds, Method Man, Andre Royo and Michael B. Jordan with Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrence Howard, Ne-Yo and singing sensation Jazmine Sullivan, who makes her first appearance on film as a jazz singer who’s in a relationship with one of the airmen.
Red Tails hits theaters January 20, 2012.

As a retired black airman with over 4300 flying hours, I can say well done! As a kid growing up in the 60′s, I read. stories about black airmen. I grew up on Air Force bases never seeing one black pilot or airman. I went through my own training rarely ever seeing another black airman. I served in 4 different squadrons in the Air Guard and the Air Force Reserve. I saw very few blacks in any of them. When I retired in 2000 I was the only black enlisted airman in my sqaudron. There was only a pilot left and he was a former enlisted man. I hope this movie will inspire other black men AND women, to strive to become aircrew enlisted or officer. I had the honor of meeting several ormer WWWii Tuskegee Pilots. I only hope I held up to their standards of honor…

This is definately a must see. The lawrene Fishburne was good and this looks even better! Finally a movie with no bafoonery.
I’m looking forward to this positive and inspirational film that depicts black people in the way they should be seen.
It`s great to see a film depicting just how Black soldiers, airmen, etc. were instrumental in Americas` war…something that usually is omitted when discussing these conflicts. History is definitely something that we should be more attuned to. I`ve recently read about The ‘Bay Of Pigs’ and ‘Nagasaki’ (The second city that The US used The Atomic bomb on following Hiroshima….Nothing but two damn holocusts that The US committed among others. Anyway, the stories of Blacks in The war are definitely stories that should be told.

P.S. I recommend that everyone read some history when it comes to these wars/conflicts, such as ‘Normandy’, ‘Bay Of Pigs’, ‘Nagasaki’, ‘Hiroshima’, ‘Korean War’, etc., it`s mind boggling to say the least.

A film like this is an excellent test on how astute certain people must be, and how easily the non-astute can be manipulated. I am not against the depiction of historical events involving black people (even though the white man will skew and adulterate any and all historical events when he depicts them), but the fact that George Lucas produced this is very interesting. I know that the simple blacks will say that he “loves black people” because his woman is “black”, but that verifies nothing if one understands that slavemasters had numerous black concubines (and would often invite other slavemasters over to his plantation to run trains on black female slaves). The point being, that in this time of war (which will not end), this film is clearly a propaganda piece intended to inspire the multitudes of listless “African-American” males without any purpose or direction in their lives to sign up for the white man’s armed forces and once again “prove their worth”, and show that they can “die for America” as well as a caucasian male can. The caucasian uses the same stratagem in regards to his military commercials, where the focal point for potential enlistment is clearly the black male. Propaganda to glorify “dying for your country” has been in existence since there have been governments, and expendable men that need to be galvanized. Any black man that signs up for this man’s military is a complete buffoon and deserves his judgment.

I hope the fact that George Lucas is behind this film will make the rest of Hollywood take notice of the incredible talent that black actors possess and make them write movies that portray us in a positive light!

I believe that this movie, will have a strong impact on African American life and also other people as well , let tell you a little story base on the truth about a Black inventer, his name is Granville T. wood, not too many people know about him, granville T. Woods sold his invention the telegraphony to Alexander Graham Bell, tha became the telephone, Also Thomas Edison, try to sue granville T. Woods in court for Multiplex telegraph, each time edison try sue woods the judge told Edison this not your invention, SO Edison eventually given up and ask Woods if he would like to join his firm, Woods decline to stay on his on. If you are interested in Black inventors googel it, there is so much to learn. Im looking forward to seeing a movie made about granville T. Woods, this is a great Afrian American inventor, thats been over looked. thank you make sure you go to see The Red Tail , about the Tuskegee Airmen.
