I’ll give K. Michelle an “A” for effort…I guess. The song’s production sounds a little amateur; almost like the booth in which she recorded it didn’t have great acoustics or something. I just hope “Best Thing I Never Had” doesn’t get covered by too many other artists the way Drake’s “Marvin’s Room” did. Seriously, if one more person releases a cover of that song!! I hold the belief that a song shouldn’t be covered and released by another artist until the song’s longevity and timelessness has been established in pop culture. “Best Thing I Never Had” hasn’t proven to be 1 of those songs yet; though the concept & lyrics of the song are powerful (for us women especially).

This version is definitely better than Beyonce’s. OMG, Beyonce oversings in “Best Thing I’ve Never Had” and sounds so deep and manly. I don’t pay attention to K Michelle, but she has a strong and beautiful voice and in my opinion, sings better than Beyonce. Of course this song isn’t mastered to it’s fullest, it’s just a cover and why pay extra when it’s just a cover?

umm.. i REALLY dont like it. when the song first came on i knew i wouldnt because of how she says baby. its annoying as hell. im NOT a huge fan of beyonce and i think her, and her latest album is highly over-rated. but her version is waay better than this. this sound cheap, ghetto, unmastered, and forced. i dont know, it just dont seem like a marketable record. i like her other songs though.

I ACTUALLY LIKE HERS WAAAY BETTER THEN BEYONCE CAUZ HER VOCALS DONT GET ANNOying like beyonce has such a beautiful voice but after a while i get bored and annoyed with all the hight pitch randomness and michelle unlike some of the other gurls that are getting record deals she can actually sing..!!
There is no doubt that Beyonce has a beautiful voice. She has a much nicer tone than Michelle, but Michelle sounded more convincing. Beyonce’s voice lack soul that can pull on ones heart strings. Beyonce’s voice sound like a Utopian world where everything is perfert. Michelle sounds like she’s really been through the struggle.
