NEWS: WOMAN AIMS TO SHOOT PITBULL BUT KILLS HUSBAND INSTEAD

July 18th, 2011

A Mississippi woman by the name of Betty Walker was at her last straw over weekend when it came to her neighbor’s dog, Cocaine. In attempt to stop the dog from attacking the neighborhood children, the 53 year-old woman grabbed her gun and shot at the 8-month old pitbull, only to accidentally shoot and kill her husband:

A Jackson man is dead and a neighborhood pet is injured after a shooting by the victim’s wife. She said she was aiming at a pit bull, attacking children, but neighborhood kids say there was no dog attack.

Folks who live in the 2100 block of Oakhurst Drive lost a neighbor this afternoon in a bizarre shooting incident. 53-year-old Robert Walker was killed by his wife, Betty, in what Jackson police are calling an accidental shooting, at this point.

Jackson police officer Colendula Green said, “The dog was trying to attack the kids in the neighborhood and at that time, the wife did shoot at the dog but instead shot her husband in the chest area.”

Robert Ferguson is the cousin of the dog’s owner. He said, “The man that got shot, he was outside with the kids. That’s all we know, we just heard the four gunshots.”

The bullets from one of those gunshots struck Lazarius Montgomery’s 8-month-old pit bulldog.

“Somebody had to pick her up out the gate. Ain’ t no way she could’ve got out the gate. She can’t jump the gate, just 8-months, a puppy,” said Ferguson. [Source]

Although the shooting incident was an accident, Betty Walker has not been charged in her husband’s death. However Jackson Police say the case will be turned over to a grand jury. As far as the dog owner, he may be faced with charges. Smh.

She knows she meant to kill her husband and used the dog as bait and an excuse. Clearly these owners sniff cocaine to name the dog that.

I know it’s a shame for that man to die, but think of this all animals are GODS creatures, the puppy was eight months and she tried to take the law in her own hands not only the law of the land but GODS law, I Guess God showed her it’s not nice trying to kill something that he created, then used her to kill something he created,, all she had to do was call 911…..

The dog owner is very handsome… ;) The story about the woman trying shoot the dog doesn’t even make any damn sense. But premeditated murder of the husband makes a whole lot more sense.

Some people on here are commenting like there are no family members connected to this tragedy. This is not a reality show, a joke, or a place to make some animal rights soap box. A man is dead and unless anyone of the commenters were there, who are they to judge?
