HOT OR NOT: LEONA LEWIS – “COLLIDE”

♫ Leona Lewis – Collide

British pop starlet Leona Lewis has been dabbling with a new look in preparation for her third album, which is presently untitled. Check out her brand new single, “Collide.” The dance-pop anthem, written by Autumn Rowe and produced by Sandy Vee.

When asked about the new album, Leona describes it as “more progressive,” “more eclectic,” “more uptempo and a bit darker.” Seems as though Leona is giving us something completely different for the new album, which is said to drop some time in November.

NEWS: WOMAN AIMS TO SHOOT PITBULL BUT KILLS HUSBAND INSTEAD

A Mississippi woman by the name of Betty Walker was at her last straw over weekend when it came to her neighbor’s dog, Cocaine. In attempt to stop the dog from attacking the neighborhood children, the 53 year-old woman grabbed her gun and shot at the 8-month old pitbull, only to accidentally shoot and kill her husband:

A Jackson man is dead and a neighborhood pet is injured after a shooting by the victim’s wife. She said she was aiming at a pit bull, attacking children, but neighborhood kids say there was no dog attack.

Folks who live in the 2100 block of Oakhurst Drive lost a neighbor this afternoon in a bizarre shooting incident. 53-year-old Robert Walker was killed by his wife, Betty, in what Jackson police are calling an accidental shooting, at this point.

Jackson police officer Colendula Green said, “The dog was trying to attack the kids in the neighborhood and at that time, the wife did shoot at the dog but instead shot her husband in the chest area.”

Robert Ferguson is the cousin of the dog’s owner. He said, “The man that got shot, he was outside with the kids. That’s all we know, we just heard the four gunshots.”

The bullets from one of those gunshots struck Lazarius Montgomery’s 8-month-old pit bulldog.

“Somebody had to pick her up out the gate. Ain’ t no way she could’ve got out the gate. She can’t jump the gate, just 8-months, a puppy,” said Ferguson. [Source]

Although the shooting incident was an accident, Betty Walker has not been charged in her husband’s death. However Jackson Police say the case will be turned over to a grand jury. As far as the dog owner, he may be faced with charges. Smh.

TV NEWS: SHAUNIE O’NEAL TALKS BETRAYING BLACK WOMEN ON TV, NOT FEELING THE L.A. CAST

In a recent interview with Ebony Magazine, reality-TV personality Shaunie O’Neal shared how she’s not too enthused about the upcoming season of VH1′s Basketball Wives. The former basketball wife also shared the reality of being the one behind the popular reality show and how people give her a hard time for portraying Black women in a not so positive light:

On people’s views of her portraying Black women negatively:
“I get a lot of flack,” says O’Neal. “People say to me: ‘You’re saying the betrayal of Black women is bad on TV, but your show is one of the number one reasons why it is.’ Guess what? I agree! But you look at those credits — it’s more than me executive producing it. I brought this vision to a table full of people, a table full of executives, and since then it has taken on its own new thing.”

On not being enthusiastic about the new LA cast:
“Honestly, they’ve [Shed Media] distorted it a little bit. I really came in with the concept of having a group of women that come together and are associated by the game of basketball, whether it be their husbands, fiancés — there’s some long-term relationship with a man in basketball and the game of basketball — and that’s how we formed this sisterhood and friendship,” she says. “The L.A. cast — there are some wives and fiancés, which I’m fine with. But there’s a little bit of trash kind of sprinkled into that cast that I’m totally against. I was really very hands off with that cast.”
