EVENTS: MELANIE FIONA PERFORMS AT ‘STEVE MADDEN SUMMER CONCERT’ + VIDEO

Singer/songwriter Melanie Fiona performs onstage at the Steve Madden Music Summer Concert Series at Le Bain on Monday night (July 25) in New York City. The 28 year-old performed a bunch of her hit songs at the event and was even pictured with Steve Madden himself.

In related news, Melanie is currently finalizing her sophomore effort, The MF Life which is slated for a November 2011 release.

SPOTTED: ARETHA FRANKLIN HEADING TO NBC STUDIOS

The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin arrives at the NBC studios in New York on Monday morning with an injured foot. Last month the 69 year-old tripped & fell over one of her Jimmy Choo spiked heels while looking for something in the closet.

“It hurt like heck for a minute, but seemed to subside,” she told People magazine. “I’m so grateful it wasn’t my right piano [pedal] foot.“
