With the Real Housewives of Atlanta coming back for a new season, one of the show’s favorite cast members, fashion stylist Dwight Eubanks will not be returning. In an interview with Bet.com, the 50 year-old revealed why he’s not returning to the popular Bravo reality television series and more:
His thoughts on reality TV:
“We can entertain you, but you still need to be educated. That’s what’s lacking in the television industry. It’s so much buffoonery and craziness out there. I just can’t do it. I refuse to do it.”On what turned him off about doing the RH:
“It was very time-consuming and I only did the Real Housewives of Atlanta to promote [his Purple Door Salon] and out of three years, they have not yet shown what I really do. I’ve had a salon for over 25 years and they just refuse to show it. It does not make sense,” he explained.On his future in television:
“They’re still trying to figure out what to do with me,” he says, explaining why his hair-focused reality show has yet to finish filming. “You have to realize: I’m 50 years old. Therefore, it has to be something that makes sense and has substance.”
When asked if he misses filming with the cast, he remarked, “I don’t miss it at all.”

With his half-did nose. That nose of his has been under construction since the last 3 seasons and it still appears incomplete. I hope he knows he contributed to the buffoonery of the show. He needs to retire with old a$$ anyways.
I wanted to know the same, does he know he was a part of the buffonery? And how can you expect the show to promote your salon, in your own words, they want people to be entertained, the fact that you has ti for 25 years dont mean sh!t; also I dont get the “we can entertain you but you need to be educated”? what did his ass mean? also Im pointing out that there are plenty of educational channels and shows, just get the right info on them, 50 years but he dont make sense, he probably has enough publicity and wants to have more privacy, belive it or not swight, without this show, it would have been worse for you, stop bitching!

Looking like Jackson #6. I’m glad he would not be returning to the show anyways. I know he’s a house wife and all, but let him get his own reality show so he can run in all the heels he wants to. I’m more upset at the fact that he’s 50. Too old to be acting a mess on national television.

One of the sweetest, most heart-warming things ive seen on reality television was when NeNe and Dwight had a falling out and were not speaking to each other at Kandi’s album event. Even though NeNe was ignoring him and they were on bad terms, when Dwight saw her, he said “look at NeNe, still workin it out.” To me thats a true friend, somebody who loves you even when you’re fighting. Dwight Eubanks will definitely be a missed from the show. Huge loss.
Awww your attitude is so positive!! Good outlook on things. Dwight will find his calling, at least he got some fame, which is more that most can say. He should be happy with that and look forward to retiring.

First of all, I think that it is a major misconception for one to say that he is “not returning” to the show. He is not apart of the cast. The correct statement is that he will not be filmed this season. In order to be on the show, the women must agree to be filmed in scenes with him. The women in cast are probably not interested in filming with him after all of the off and on-camera negative comments that he has made about almost all of them besides Phaedra. He has been replaced by Lawrence anyhow. As for him claiming to be 50,lol, he was 50 according to the first season so who knows how old he REALLY is. I am glad he will no longer be on the show. He seems to be an excellent party planner (as seen on MTV’s Sweet Sixteen) and business owner. I am actually happy for him to go on with his life!

OK, so Dwight is leaving because BRAVO didn’t put more focus on his salon? He must have thought he was one of the housewives FOR REAL!!! Imagine if they had added him to the show open………what the hell would his line have been? LMAO.
In any event, I found Dwight to be quite entertaining, he would say some of the craziest things (no filters!) and his look was……unique to say the least. Definitely he was part of what he now feels in BUFOONERY but I feel that he was one of the most “real” characters (and they are all “characters”) on the show. Putting on airs is what those women did from the time the cameras started rolling. I do feel Kandi,Phaedra and Cynthia (?)kept it the most “real” though. I’m sure Dwight will make Cameo appearances now and then, somehow, I doubt we’ve seen the last of him in the ATL Housewife mix.
