GUESS WHO: OUT & ABOUT IN NYC

August 23rd, 2011

GUESS WHO photographer Taj Washington spotted out and about in New York City on Monday afternoon? HiNT: He recently came out of the closet in a new book…

It’s CNN anchor Don Lemon. The 45 year old was spotted running errands in NYC and stopped to pose for the CL cameras. He released the book, Transparent back in May where he spoke publicly about his sexuality and sexual abuse for the first time.

It’s interesting how often sexual abuse is linked with “alternative lifestyles” but there are still people who allege that there is a genetic predisposition for h*mosexuality.

I bet it has something to do with people’s (present company included) reluctance to acknowledge sexual difference and diversity. Sexuality, like race, is a social construction, based in real biological realities. In cruder terms, your homophobia is showing.

Sir or miss, you are trying VERY HARD to sound intelligent or enlightened and it is not working. “Race” is not a “social construction”, and you clearly do not know what the word means. Only people who have no knowledge of their history make such stupid assertions lol. Furthermore, there is no biological basis for h*mosexuality. It is IN FACT, the insecurity of the h*mosexual community that pushed for a scientific basis for their spiritual malady in order to justify it through law passage. It is irrefutable that child molestation victims have a far higher chance of becoming “h*mosexual”, which no one wants to acknowledge because it would validate the demonic spiritual aspect. What your diatribe is more revealing of is the oncoming push to accept child molestation as an “alternative lifestyle”, which you will. You wait until “NAMBLA” puts the right spin on things. You’ll fall for it….

Oh please @JUDAH ,no one on here tries to sounds more intelligent or enlightened than your ignorant ass, there’s no arguing with you because you seem to have all the answers to the basis of homosexuality with your bible based statements. Are you an ex gay? Cause you focus a lot on how bad homosexuality is and you probably have the cure or the prayer that eliminates homosexuality, if you firmly believe that homosexuality is a sin then all homosexuals are going to burn in hell, so you shouldn’t have to worry about homosexuals, you’re not gay so your going straight to heaven without a doubt. It’s sad that people believe that people turn gay and sexually abused people turn gay,I know many people who were not sexually abused and they’re gay…..no one chooses their orientation if that was a fact so many would revert that choice seeing that most homosexuals are discriminated against, with that said I’m pretty sure this will have NO affect on
your because your views were taught to you from young, and now I’m sure your going to reply with an eloquent statement trying to prove your ignorant point,so there you go the floor is yours

Miss/sir, all I did was make a point which is that a starkly high amount of molested children become h*mosexual. If h*mosexuality is genetically predisposed WHY IS THAT? That is all I said, and all the other fluff that you and others attempt to come against that basic question with show that you cannot answer the question.

I have to agree with Judah.

      To BlackClectic,
Homosexuality is considered a psychological disorder in healthcare. Homosexuality is in no way “genetic” or relative to your DNA, so with that said, homosexuality is a CHOICE. You in no way can relate homosexuality to “race,” as you say. There is only 1 race = human race. Nor can you relate it in parallel to ethnicity. Being black, white, Mexican, etc is not a choice, you are born that way. You are NOT IN NO WAY born homosexual.

To Blasphemy, as well, homosexuality is in fact, scientifically proven to be a choice. There is no such thing as a DNA strand of homosexuality.

I don’t know Judah, but ya’ll go hard on him, yet, at least he does provide information for you to research, on your own time, in support of what he speaks.

      I’m just saying….

I for once agree with Judah and Idomind. It is a demonic spirit or just spirit connection. Ever heard of soul ties with whoever you have sex with and whoever they had sex with and so on..homosexual sexual child abuse has a cloning effect, just as in many heterosexual sexual child abuse can lead to promiscuity, more than likely taking on the promiscuous spirit of the abuser. God created sex to tie 2 people together in a marriage between and man and a woman and due to sexual perversion and abuse of his intent, people are connected to the wrong people.

In reference to that comment, I mean in retrospective that they attack whatever comment you say with anger, and frustration. Yet, they don’t use that same energy to empower themselves through understanding.

      To Blasphemy
If one does not agree with the homosexual lifestyle, that makes one ignorant? So in essence, you are saying, that I should agree with that “alternative lifestyle” in order to be well learned, educated, skilled, and wise? Interesting.
That is the trick of Satan. No?
While you are “fighting for gay rights,” just make sure you are one of the “500 million” in the “Georgia Guidestones.” *I’m pretty sure you have no idea what that is in reference to, but it is ok….

I believe this is what God meant by two becoming one…one in body and the spirit of the body..without the spirit the body is dead.

Genesis 2:24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh

Mark 10:8 and the two will become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two, but one.

Malachi 2:15 Has not [the LORD] made them one? In flesh and spirit they are his. And why one? Because he was seeking godly offspring. So guard yourself in your spirit, and do not break faith with the wife of your youth

      To Blasphemy,
I don’t “hate” anyone. Gay, straight, black, white, whatever. The reason why I addressed you in the first place, is because you attempted to parallel homosexuality and “race.”

I’m not a “conspiracy theorist.” lol You are funny.

Long story short, homosexuality is unnatural. Period. If it were considered normal, it wouldn’t be called an “alternative lifestyle.”

On another note, the same thing that homosexuals fight against, (men/women or opposite sex relationships) is the same thing that brought them into this world.

You can call me whatever, but I don’t care how much of a “hater” you call me, it STILL won’t change the FACT that two of the same sex can not and never will procreate.

You for once agree with me because you for once are (partially) correct lol. The scriptures you’ve cited on this thread are decent but a little off. That is to be expected though because a woman shouldn’t be trying to teach the scriptures (I Tim 2:10-15). Malachi 2:15 is not talking about an actual woman. The “wife of your youth” is talking about the laws, statutes, and commandments. Actual marriages were ARRANGED, there was no “falling in love” “soul melding” dynamic, and men had MULTIPLE WIVES (Deut 21:15). We’ve been over this before miss lol.

      @MMMHMM

Thank you miss, and if they call you “crazy”, it is a compliment. Terms like “crazy” and “conspiracy theorist” are dismissive terms used by people with low levels of comprehension. Others looked up NAMBLA just as you did but they will not acknowledge it because it probably shook them to their core.

      @LOCAL CELEBRITY

I agree and it is because the spirit to get knowledge and wisdom must be given to you (Prov 24:7).

Judah speaks the truth! You cannot compare homosexuality to race, in no way, form or fashion. Homosexuality is a choice, race is not! There is no scientific evidence to prove too people of the same sex can procreate NATURALLY, so there is no valid evidence that homosexuality is a birth defect.

Amazing how there is still so much negative comments about gay people. I guess the black community is NOT tired of the massacre of HIV, Aids, and suicide that are wipping out their families because black men are too afraid to come out, so they continue to sleep with black women to maintain their sanity and respect from their people. No use to saying “wake up people” when the community wants to continue to pretend.

@JUDAH – I went to college and I read books so I know words like “social construction” and “sexual diversity.” Race is a social construction because it’s definition varies relative to the society and time in which it’s used. For example, Catholics weren’t considered white when that racial concept was initially imagined in the US.

@LOCAL CELEBRITY – Homosexuality WAS considered and psychological disorder by the APA, but that is no longer true and has been that way for at least 35 years. [American Psychological Association] Furthermore, sexual attraction is not a choice. It is a disposition. There are some biological and socially constructed aspects to sexuality, but none of that implies choice. Humanity itself is socially constructed. When you really think about it, how are you any different from any other creature on the Earth.

You are incorrect when you claim that homosexuality has been scientifically proven to be a choice and it is quite ironic that you want others to present facts when you have not done so yourself. There are too many “givens” in the statement for it to be true on its face. Try again.

    • caramelapple

The fact that homosexuality was once a psychological disorder and then changed to sexual attraction is not a choice shows that they dont know what they are talking about if they change it up here and their. God’s words of the Bible dont change…His words are true because they dont change with the flow or new information. God is the information.

@ Local Celebrity and Carmel Apple — I think you are the same person…maybe even Judah. Either way, I’m a Christian and I believe the Earth revolves around the Sun. I believe that we are all made up of atoms and evolved from more primitive beings.

The fact that the Bible was interpreted in a way that justified slavery means to me that peoples’ interpretation of the Bible changes constantly. Additionally, the Bible changes. It is the result of change. It use to be the Tanakh before Christians made it into the Bible, which itself changed during the Reformation. History is a hell of a drug.

@LOCAL CELEBRITY — That’s sweet that you’re an health IT student….Doesn’t that mean you manage health information….like patient files or something? I hate to play the “whose is bigger” game, but I’m sociology graduate student and this is part of my thesis work. With that said, of course, there is no gay gene because “gay and straight” are made up categories we use to organize and understand different sexual dispositions. The things that make a woman a woman are not found in one gene. Some babies are born with 2 X chromosomes, a uterus, ovaries and a penis and most doctors will probably classify that baby as a girl and surgically remove the penis. Many factors inform how we conceptualize biological sex and I don’t see why that would be any different from sexual orientation.

When people say they are born gay, I’m pretty certain they mean that they couldn’t help their sexual attraction to the same sex. It is an innate quality.

What you are talking about sweety is called interpretations and conversions. The words of God still did not change just because people interpreted it into different formats, languages, etc.

      God said:
Genesis 2:17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

Hebrew 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment….PEOPLE ARE STILL DYING EVERYDAY

      God said:
      Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception;
in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children;…..AND CHILDBirth LABOR IS still PAINFUL to this day, whether little pain or alot, pain is pain.

      God said:
Genesis 3:19 By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return. …..WE ARE STILL WORKING AND TRYING TO WORK TO LIVE AND EAT, ETC TIL THIS DAY

People can deny it all they want or toss and turn it, but it is still true and unchanging, the words of God. He is validated in birth and in death.

@CARAMELAPPLE — I grew up in the Church, so don’t throw Scriptures around like it gives you some sort of supranatural knowledge. That doesn’t mean anything to anyone. The fact is that the Bible is an object of history. Furthermore, Christians around the world read from different Bibles, some with extra books, etc. The Bible is beautiful and useful in its themes, not in its literalness. Literalness is idolatry. You make the Bible into an idol when you worship it instead the God that it speaks about.

AND logically, there is no such thing as a Bible without interpretation. Even if we suspend reality and accept that the Bible is the literal word of God, your understanding of that text and what it means in our time now taints its literalness. You filter those words through your own limited knowledge, experiences and language.

The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.

In order to worship “God” you must do so as the scriptures tell you (Isaiah 8:20, I Peter 4:11, etc.). The Bible is only “open to interpretation” to those that are chaff, not the wheat (Matt 13:9,10). If I were to start to cite the scriptures that tell you that h*mosexuality is an abomination, we would be here for 40 days and 40 nights. Most of you “enlightened” black people are just mouthpieces for these caucasian doctrines. You have no actual thought process.

The truth is that only 7 or 8 passages in the Bible are even remotely related to this topic. In the end, though, I think its pretty courageous of Don Lemon to come out when people like you exist in the world.

One more thing: It is a sad state of affairs when so-called black church people equate Education with Whiteness. It’s as if reading a book is the opposite of being a black man or woman. You have not spoken to any of my points on the evolution of the Bible from the Tanakh, through Catholicism, and the Reformation; the pure diversity of Christians in the world and they’re varying books of the Bible; Intersexuality as a contradicting truth to binary sexes and how sexual attraction operates in the same way.

You only throw Scriptures around…and incoherently at that. And just for the record, homo-, heterosexuality and homophobia are European concepts. Sexual diversity has always been a part of African history. Homophobia came with the colonizers.

What type of assinine assertion is that lmao? Only “7 or 8 scriptures address h*mosexuality”. No, actually it’s many more than that, but if it was only 1 scripture, and that 1 scripture stated that h*mosexuality was an abomination punishable by death, how much more clarity would you need? You yourself associate “education with whiteness” because all you are doing is parroting the precepts taught by the caucasian man and woman. You allege that “h*mophobia” is a “European concept” lmao, when the white man is the standard-bearer for the h*mosexual movement, so you’re a liar. The white man is a h*mosexual and sexual pervert by NATURE. Furthermore, the blacks of the captivity are not “Africans”, but even when one looks at the cultural practices of the Africans, they are under fire by the white man for killing h*mosexuals, so spare me please. Lastly let me say that there is no “evolution” to the scriptures, so your attempt at a point there is moot and rather silly. What you are attempting to list, is the evolution of the “church”, which has nothing to do with the Bible after the Nicene Council. If my citation of scriptures is “incoherent” to you, it is because you open the Bible and have no understanding of what you’re reading lol. Like most “educated black women”, you’re just a programmed robot unable of deciphering anything outside of your programming.

Peace, Love and Hair grease to the rest of y’all.

    yup

I have to first say that no one is born gay and if you believe in God (the Lord Jesus christ) you would know this and if you are born gay that would make God a lie. We all come here born upside down meaning the wrong way meaning we all come out as sinners, catch my drift so when a gay says I can’t help the way I feel, they are telling the truth, they can’t, because they are born sinners just like all of us but there problem is they like the same sex just like a person who likes to gamble, steal, kill, over eat whatever your transgressions are its the same thing. Now, when christ died on the cross he died for sinners not good people or just white or black he died for sinners, which we all fall under this category………now once ur saved thru ur beliefs in christ death, burial ressurections its what u do with it or how u appropriate ur faith that keeps u from giving into your sinful desires however; as long as you have flesh you will always have a battle with whatever sins you have a problem with committing but if you learn to appropriate your faith you can come out a winner!
