NEWS: BIG SEAN ARRESTED, CHARGED W/ SEXUAL ASSAULT + STATEMENT FROM LAWYER
Rapper/ghost writer Big Sean was arrested on Thursday (August 4) in New York with a friend and charged with sexual assault. Keep reading for the details:
New York State Park Police received a complaint that a female had been sexually assaulted during a concert where the G.O.O.D. Music rapper performed on the same bill as Wiz Khalifa.
The rapper, born Sean Anderson, was arrested along with Willie Hansbro at approximately 9:50 p.m. ET after the woman issued the complaint. Both were charged with forcible touching, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree and sex abuse in the third degree and will have to appear in court.

Big Sean’s lawyer, Scott E. Leemon, released this statement Friday regarding the arrest saying:
“Last night, recording artists, Sean “Big Sean” Anderson and Willie “Sayitainttone” Hansbro were arrested and then immediately released by the NY State Police in connection with an allegation made by a female who was at their concert in Lewiston, New York.
Both men were charged with misdemeanors and they both vehemently deny the allegations. I am confident, that after further investigation, both men will be vindicated.”
No official word from Big Sean since the arrest though.

I hope that the truth comes to light, but I’m a little disturbed by your certainty that these two men are innocent, as opposed to you saying I hope the truth comes to light. Assumptions that the female is lying are constantly made when dealing with celebrities (e.g. Kobe Bryant) and I don’t think anyone should jump to conclusion without hearing all the facts, especially when dealing with something as serious as sexual assault. So many women are afraid to admit that they were take advantage of because of comments like the one above.

Man that’s messed up! I was at front and center at the concert and it was both ways. If you asked me she looked like she was enjoying every moment of it.I bet she didn’t tell how she was feeling on him too huh?! I notice anytime a story like this comes out women are automatically represented as the ones who came on too strong, sent out the wrong signals or are NOT the victims. Many men in the industry feel because they have the money and power they can have ANYTHING they want- including women.
If the woman was dancing with him during the show, SO WHAT. If she declined for it to go any further afterwards, she is ALLOWED to do that, it is her HUMAN RIGHT. And if Big Sean didn’t listen then I hope he gets what is coming to him. There is a lot of abuse that goes on in the industry that never gets reported or people get away with.
