Despite releasing an album just last month, Kelly Rowland already is in talks about releasing a follow-up to her third studio album, Here I Am.
As not much of a surprised, Kelly will reteam with hitmaker Rico Love, who was responsible for penning her #1 platinum-selling single, “Motivation,” to create “classic, timeless R&B sound” with the former Destiny’s Child starlet. He gives us a little insight into what’s going on with the new project.
“I’m starting Kelly’s new album soon,” reveals Love, exclusively to Rap-Up. “While she’s on tour, I’m gonna be writing records for her new album. We can kinda roll that out and drop her new single in late spring. Excited about that.”
Here I Am debuted at #3 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart, and #1 on the R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart, with 77,000 copies sold in the first week. To date, it is Rowland’s highest debuting and charting album in the United States. “Motivation” has spent several weeks topping the charts as well, making it Kelly’s most successful solo single.

The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige professes her love and complains that “24/7 ain’t enough” for her to do so in “25/8″, the new Eric Hudson-produced single from her forthcoming tenth album, the sequel to her classic 1994 sophomore album My Life. My Life II: The Journey Continues is slated to be released in October.
