If you watched the reunion episode of Vh1′s Basketball Wives, you noticed that Shaunie O’Neal didn’t have much of anything to say. But this morning, the reality show’s executive stopped by Chicago’s Power 92 to discuss the show, Jennifer and her ex-husband’s drink tossing situation as well as whether Meeka Claxton is coming back to Basketball Wives:
“She’s pretty done. I think paperwork-wise, it’s not official yet, but it will be soon. I mean it just didn’t work. It didn’t work in any aspect with anybody. It makes no sense for her to come back. I hear she wants to come back but it just doesn’t make any sense.”
Shaunie later added that Royce may or may not be returning to the show. You can listen to the entire interview below. Part II of the Basketball Wives reunion episode will air next week, Monday, August 22nd at 8pm EST on Vh1.
When the word sexy is thrown around, it’s usually used to call someone handsome, beautiful or attractive. But to actor Idris Elba being called a sex symbol is something he admits to be flattering, but in all honesty, he ‘doesn’t know what it feels like to be one’. In fact, he says the word sexy is a word that never really applied to describing black men:
“Black men, we’re never called sexy. We’re called athletic, intense, we’re cool…we’re described as being the strong type, the silent type. But we’re never really described as sexy… in general, the word sexy doesn’t apply to black men, particularly…Or in a script, they won’t say sexy black men, they’ll say ‘a muscular black guy’, ‘an intense black guy’… The word has been thrown at me a few times so if I have to say I own it, fine.”

It’s been over seven months since Jazmine Sullivan announced she was taking a break from music, yet previously unreleased tracks continue to find their way online. The latest is “Boy Why”, a soulful, bluesy number as Jazmine comtemplates the relationship with her man.
No word on whether this is from studio sessions for her upcoming third album, but it could possibly be a contribution to her upcoming film Red Tails, which hits theaters early 2012.
