Although her sisters were scheduled to induct Toni, they canceled their performance and word is, we’ll see this unfold in the new season of Braxton Family Values, which is set to premiere Thursday, November 10, at 9 ET.
TAMIA’S NEW ALBUM & SINGLE ON THE WAY!
With the year drawing to an end, not many R&B singers are scheduled to release new albums. However, one of our favorite singers from the 90s/early 2000s is finally making her music comeback after 5 years.
According to Tamia’s publicist, Michelle Huff, the “Stranger in My House” singer will be releasing her newest single at the end of this month! What’s even more exciting is that her upcoming album is rumored to be titled Beautiful Surprise:
This will be Tamia’s 5th studio album following the release of Between Friends in 2006. At least we know that a real R&B artist will be making a comeback in 2012. Who else is happy to hear this besides me? Can’t wait, Tamia!
RIHANNA RELEASING NEW SINGLE FRIDAY? + INFO ON A NEW ALBUM
Originally planning to keep the steam going on her Loud era with a rerelease of the album, reports have swarmed that Rihanna is planning to release a brand new album this fall. And she even took to her Twitter for confirmation of that.
And with that being said, it’s been rumored that during her headlining set during Rock In Rio this Friday, she will debut a brand new first single, entitled “We Found Love.” (produced by Calvin Harris) from her presently untitled sixth studio album, which she will releon the way to laser tag!ase via Island Def Jam. The new single is set to impact mainstream radio October 11th.
With Rihanna’s new-found fun personality and her new sense of relatibility, it is interesting that after this tour, she decides to release a brand new album not even a year after the release of Loud. What do you guys think? Is this just a ploy to remain relevant in the ever-changing trends of the music business? Or is Rihanna just trying to stay connected to her fans?

On Rihanna, I feel like it’s too much too soon. No one rides albums anymore. I thought Loud was released too fast. She could’ve ridden RATED R for another year, that album was SO FIRE!! I don’t think it is too much to soon. She has to stay relevant and in order to do that she has to keep us interested with new music and a new image. She is ever changing so we should expect that what she wants to do as an artist to change too.

Def Jam is simply just trying to keep their cash cow pumping milk. Beyonce is now forced to go on a little (and seriously needed) hiatus, so this is basically Rihanna’s time to captitalize on everything she can while she is as young as she is, and before her candle fades. On another note, I think Def Jam took notice to the recent megasuccess of her rival/best friend Katy Perry’s Teenage Dream album, and they wanna match that as best as they can. In a sense, I look forward to it because Rihanna tends to make catchy pop tunes that stay in your head. However, at this point, I don’t know if I care about her that much to actually buy the album. I haven’t bought her last two. I kinda liked her more in the Good Girl Gone Bad era because that was her big breakthrough, still to this day her best album, and she was a lot more humble back then. I just like to download the songs I like.
Rihanna has done a good job of keeping her self relevant she gives enough so that if she wants to take a break she could with no problem… She basicly has the thrown and can do as she please. I think in a sense Beyonce and Rihanna compliment each other in this business, it’s like back when you had Janet and Whitney-similar but then again not similar. I think the main reason why some people are tired of Beyonce is because she kinda stays in a box with her music and sometimes her new material isn’t that refreshing, I mean just look at Gurlz and Best Thing I Never Had and tell me those 2 songs don’t parallel Single Ladies and Irreplaceable. Though her voice and stage presence makes up for it. Rihanna may not have the voice or legacy of Beyonce, yet at least, but she is a risktaker with everything she puts out. She could go bubble pop on you then make your mouth drop next second like Russian Roulette. So I think in a sense that is what makes her such a better pop artist for the moment because the industry knows most women can’t hold a candle to Beyonce’s voice, so in intimidation, the pop audience gets a bit turned off and prefers the wow factor over actual chops. This may sound a little all over the place, but you can kinda see what I mean when I say they “compliment” each other.

the only reason rihanna is releasing her album so quick is so that she can sign a new contract with def jam. they signed her for a 6 album deal back in 05, and obviously back then she was unknown so the contract wasnt in her best interest.
now she owes them just one last album then she can sign a new deal which she will profit from
