its like he’s trying to have a message but he’s not really saying anything…kinda like jadakiss…
I love this song…I’m glad someone is trying to tell these kids something. I thought he said a lot
Almost dismissed it because of the word “swag” but glad I didn’t…KICK THAT KNOWLEDGE DB! He just sold me on the album off this hook alone…good to hear someone actually saying something w/ substance “If that’s the only thing they see then that’s the only thing they’ll be”…”a white girl call us n*$$a and we just sit back and laugh”
Very clever song! Shouts out to David Banner for this one!
I do sort of like the song but WTF is this video about? Swag + London riots pictures??? what does this mean? If you’re dumb enough to go looting and rioting and burning people’s homes and businesses then you got swag? JOKE. Stop encouraging violence and glorifying it, it makes me sick in my stomach. LAME. Instrumental is cool though, video to me sucks, banner’s rap sucks.
I like David Banner!
And this song is not Bad!
@Jordan Gabriel Did you not LISTEN to the song? He’s discouraging the “poison” that other rappers feed “the streets that raise them.” I think your perception of the lyrical content is a little warped. And the video (featuring bondage by a white woman, a la the psychological bondage of Kreayshawn and White Girl Mob on the Black Community) is actually pretty spectacular.
Will this ever get play on BET? It’s a bit conceptual. I agree with eh message, but I don’t think everyone will understand (see Jordan Gabriel). Didn’t BET refuse to show something because it was too intellectual. I really don’t keep up with BET so I don’t remember.
there was a song they didnt play but the song (to me) was too vulgar and if there was a message in it, it was lost.cant recall the song but it was recent. I see there are 2 people here that dont get it.They prolly on that “SWAG”. Also I see not many people have commented on the song period.Thats another problem, the people dont want a message, they like BS.or maybe (like me and other dude) they thought it was another bs song and didnt even click.Im glad I did. Only wish there werent so many curse words so that the kids can listen.Sometimes a song has a really good message but with some of the content you dont want your 13 year old listening.
I liked the song right away, and sometimes don’t like the actual video messing up the image I have of the song in my head (weird, I know), but it was a good video to a great song. But of course not a lot of people are going to understand it. And good looking out on adding the Oscar Grant/Bart incident.
I am beautiful woman and I love good man…..inter racial romance is my dream… so I joined —-βlαckwhitеHub.СòM—–it’s where to- connect with beautiful and excellent people! Maybe you wanna ch’eck it out or tell your friends.
I agree, I almost dismissed this song/video because of the title and I’m glad that I changed my mind. DB showed a lot of courage and wisdom to speak his mind and say exactly what is going on but a lot of people are like sheep being led to the slaughter. The media exults people like Jay-Z, Beyonce, Kanye West, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rhianna and others to almost God-like status…hell Jay actually wants to be HIM. There is a systematic, blatant evil that has and is encompassing our youth. It’s an evasive neglect of our minds so we just sit there and think it’s cute and funny that white girls who aren’t from no one’s hood say the N-word with vigor and not a care in the word for the repercussions of such an offense. Lady Gaga blatant mocks Jesus in one of her videos and I don’t know what to say about Kanye’s last album and his montage of videos. I mean wow! It’s everywhere you look if you know where to look and how to look. People need to open their eyes. This was a great song with a great message and no, he won’t get the air play and he won’t be honored at this whack a– award shows where fake people give out even faker awards but to me, he did what needed to be done. And I pray for him to keep doing it and more like him to speak out.
