I love Amber Riley! I think she’s extremely talented. I also think that they play her voice down ALOT for Glee, to make her sound more “broadway” like. I’ve seen some of her videos on youtube of her singing more naturally and she KILLS. Check out her performing “Sweet Thing” at a club on youtube, it’s dope. I’m interested in hearing music from her outside of Glee, I think she can do some damage.

This chick is “The Beast” ,it’s funny how on #Glee they make it as though Rachel is the best female vocalist,when clearly Mercedes is,her range and pitch is always on point,I’m pretty sure shell be releasing a an album in the near future

Rachel isn’t the best vocalist per se, however for what the show is, she is the best showtune performer. Amber can defintiely blow on the modern songs, but Rachel kills it otherwise. On the same note, I can’t stand hearing Rachel with the newer songs! When they had the Britney tribute episode I thought she murdered (in a bad way) ‘Baby one more time’.
I think it just highlights that each person on the show has their own niche.
I think Finn is terrible though.
Although JHud has a nice voice, Amber kill her song. She outdid JHud on her own song and did it without screeming just letting her natural voice shine. I wonder if she is allow to sign with a record label to put out music?
It was a rumor that during the first season most of them had signed deals with Columbia (including Amber), but I think their contracts limit them from singing a major deal. Only one of the glee club singers release a solo album, and it was an indie release. Lea Michele is probably the biggest star of the show, and she isn’t even signed to a label.
She said she in the middle of writing and recording and something should be out by the beginning of next year. Can’t wait. This chick is bad!

I hear that. I can not take J Hud & her screaming and yelling is not considered singing and thats all she does.

I like it. Amber Riley did a nice cover of JHud’s song. I also think she has a great voice outsid of Glee.
I love her. I am really hoping she gets more of a story this season. She has the best voice on the show.
She may not have the voice quality of Jennifer Hudson but she definitely out did her on this song. I see people are starting to turn on Jennifer too, like they did Beyonce and Fantasia. You flavor of the month people are just so funny. Too bad they don’t sing for you huh!
