Looks like Stacey Dash is throwing up the deuces to hit VH1 show, Single Ladies. The 40-something actress told Global Grind exclusively 
that she has decided to leave the show:
“I truly enjoyed playing Val on ‘Single Ladies’, but I have decided to leave the show. I have to be back in L.A. with my children right now and the ‘Single Ladies’ shooting location makes that impossible. I wish VH1 the best of luck with the show and in maintaining the strong fan base we developed in season one.” [ SOURCE ]
VH1 has also released a statement:
“VH1 respects Stacey’s decision and her commitment to what she feels is best for her family. We thank her for all of her hard work in making ‘Single Ladies’ a success right out of the gate, and we wish her nothing but the best in her future plans.”
This is going to be very odd for the new season. There was a big cliff hanger at the end of Season 1, so I will like to see how they explain that one! A mess.
Well she was the only reason I watched so thats a wrap for me! I cant take Lisa Raye or the other girls acting and horrible weaves. The storyline was pretty solid though, but without Stacey I dont think I can watch lol.

I like Stacey Dash, but usually if the lead character leaves a show or is replaced the show is pretty much a rap even if it gets another season. Lisa Ray’s character is probably easy for her to play since it is basically the same as an older Diamond from Playa’s Club. I think the spend excuse Stacey gave was wack and lame. I mean she is an actress. Everything is not taped in LA and for a show like Single Ladies she is not away from LA or her family all year, only the months of taping. I think she just wants out of the show or the producers wants her gone and this is just PR.

I’ve seen two episodes and her acting is way better then the other girls, especially LR. She is horrible! I wish her much success still. I won’t be watching the show. Those 2 episodes were enough for me. I don’t buy her excuse either but I guess she was trying to be PC about the whole issue. Malinda? Can she play a snob? Meagan Good would be a good fit I think. Salli Richardson may not touch this show with a ten foot pole. Gabby would do it justice for she is the best snob there is but would she do it? Probably not.
I agree Gabby Union would be PERFECT for this role. I will miss Stacy, I missed seeing her and this role was created for her. I don’t agree with her reasoning but se la vie.
Did her and Lisa Raye get into it on the set of single ladies? Maybe thats why she is leaving. I like watching the show but it will not be the same without Stacy Dash. Maybe they should get Vanessa Williams from Soul Food to replace her or Malinda Williams.

stacey will be seriously missed she was very believable and she was a big part of the show. They may loose rating without stacey at least from what I have been reading on the other blogs but we will see. It depends on who they replace her with but I wish she would have stayed but oh well I guess her and Lisa Raye really could not settle the problem because that is really why she is leaving. Maybe she has a gag order or she just don’t want to open up about the TRUTH

Not to knock Stacey’s commitment to her family – but let’s face facts:
- She knew the show would be shot in Atlanta before the first episode went into production.
- She knew that if the show was successful, it would be renewed for a second season and they would most likely maintain the shooting location.
- As a veteran of the biz, she knew that she would spend long hours/months filming on location, thousands of miles from her family in CA.
So why accept the role, create a character that people become attached to, and then leave (with a cliffhanger ending, no less)? I don’t get it. She is acting like she’s brand new, and we all know she’s not.

They left us with this GI-Normous cliff hanger and she all of a sudden throws up the deuces in the midst of all the success the show has been recieving because she misses kids? I can understand that your kids are important Stacey but you knew about the long distance the moment you recieved the script, and you still accepted the offer so umm…I wonder what’s really going on? Anywho, it won’t be the same but hopefuly the bring someone who can keep the show successful.

Stacy was clearly paid to not talk the circumstances surrounding her departure from the show. The entire show needs to be cancelled. The storyline is bootleg version of satc and the overall acting is horrendous
but where will Keisha live.. She was Vals roommate.. this is some messy stuff behind the scenes. I think just watching how they resolve it will be enough to keep me glued for a few episodes.
The show worked because of the cast.. regardless of the horrible acting. I was all for tis show but this throws in a rift.. I imagine Megan Good will be getting a phone call and asked to fill in! We’ll see..
Lisa Ray is a horrible actress, she’s only famous for her big butt and cute face. Remember LR started out as a Video girl, Stacy started out as an actress. What probably happen was LR said something smart to Stacy & Stacy went off, they probably thought Stacy was a punk, because she so tiny, but them is the one you gotta watch. LOL
LR seems arrogant & conseeded, I believe it would be hard to work with her, maybe even work for her. I’m not a fan of the show I have watched it a few times, but I’m sure stacy will be fine where ever she goes.
Here’s what they should do:
Have Donald Faison on as an INS agent sent to deport Val (Stacey Dash’s character), since she’s in the US on an illegal visa. Then, have Alicia Silverstone buy her fake business and take her place on the show. At least then, they’d have one good actress. Then for good measure, they could have Ice Cube on to pimp slap LisaRaye’s character (who, in a plot twist, is actually a runaway escort). Once she flees for her life, Michelle Williams (Soul Food) takes her place as her caring cousin (who doesn’t manage to care beyond the point it takes to get rid of LisaRaye’s character).

LisaRaye McCoy and Stacey Dash are appearing on the new VH1 scripted show Single Ladies, which has been compared to Sex and the City. However, it is not all cosmos and girl talk on the Atlanta set, as there have been rumors that LisaRaye and Dash have not been getting along.
In fact, there were reports of hair pulling and Stacey storming off set! LisaRaye went on The Wendy Williams Show to talk about Single Ladies and to clear the air.
When Wendy asked LisaRaye about the behind the scenes drama, she said: “I am too grown to put myself in that situation. No physical anything. We are filming 13 to 15 hours a day. When you are seeing each other every day there will be some creative differences, there’s going to be some words exchanged… but that was yesterday… We have moved on.”
When asked specifically about the hair pulling and Stacey running off set, LisaRaye said: “No fights. None like that.”

I think Mya fits the role. And Stacey Dash’s agent probably got her onto another project shot in LA. As for LR. It’s kind of hard to earn respect as an actress after your star debut was a role of a stripper. Not to mention her personal life & rumors reflecting a certain image. I think she did ok. Her agent need to get her a serious challenging role and if she has to do it in an indie movie, then be it. Otherwise….people will dismiss her right the way.
My husband and I were crushed when we heard Stacy would not be returning to SL; and I don’t believe her exit message. Kudos to her for not dogging the show or cast members out; exiting like a true lady. Anyway I love Lisa Rae, it’s that other chick I’m not sold on; BUT I am glad she is getting some acting practice. And who said this is an older Diamond role, NO IT ISN’T. Diamond was a student paying her way to college and she wasn’t enjoying sleeping around; I think this is a fun character for Lisa Rae.
I think it was a money thing. SD knows that she carries the show, and w/cliff hanger ending her agent probably thought they could get more money. VH1 is cheap-all of these networks want to give black cast as little as possible. Maybe that would have worked after a good second season. I with SD the best.
SD was the only reason I watched the show, so that is a wrap for me. Surely, they can come to an understanding if not. Season 2 will be the last season, can we say.. HawthoRNe.

You are hilarious. Stacey’s acting was not the best. I never liked her acting but it was good seeing her back on t.v. The role fit her well and was right for her. So, her lack of acting was fine in the role. Lisa Raye on the other hand is so bad nothing could help her. I only watched to see what Stacey was wearing and the guest appearances. I felt bad for the stellar actors like Isiah Washington and D.B. Woodside that had to act along side these terrible actresses. It made me feel like there must not be enough work out there for black actors right now that they would subject themselves to this. I was like is Isiah’s career really over and did hollywood really blacklist him because of that ” Grey’s Anatomy” gay statement he made. So sad. Because he is a dynamite actor. His ego has got him in trouble. Lisa Raye needs to learn from his mistakes. She is a hot mess. Queen please give some new people a shot and get some better writers.
I think they should replace her with Nia Long too, or Brandy, Gabrial Union, Janet Jackson, I cant think of nobody else.
