Tennis star Serena Williams let out some steam during her match against Samantha Stosur of Australia on Sunday (Sept 11). After hitting one of her lightning speed tennis serves at her opponent, the 3-time US Open champion yelled, “Come on!’ right before Stosur was able to hit the ball. Immediately after, the chair umpire Eva Asderaki issued the point to Stosur, telling Serena that “it’s her point” because when she “called out, she (Stosur) got distracted.” Naturally, Serena was NOT having that and openly expressed her anger:
“Are you the one that screwed me over the last time? You’re a nobody. [...] If you ever see me walking down the hall, look the other way, because you’re out of control. [...] You’re totally out of control. You’re a hater, unattractive inside. Who would do such a thing? And I never complain. Wow. What a loser.
“Give me a code violation because I expressed my emotion? We’re in America last time I checked. Really, don’t even look at me. I promise you. Don’t look at me, because I’m not the one.”
About two years ago, Serena got way more heated with an umpire after a line judge called a foot-fault call on her at the end of her game loss to Kim Clijsters in the 2009 U.S. Open semifinals. All I know is, Serena does NOT play when it comes to tennis!
Check out the actual play and Serena’s comments towards the umpire in the first two videos below. In the third video, she shares her thoughts on the umpire incident during a press conference.

It is impossible to fall out of love. Love is such a powerful emotion, that once it envelops you it does not depart. True love is eternal. If you think that you were once in love, but fell out of it, then it wasn’t love you were in. There are no ‘exit’ signs in love, there is only an ‘on’ ramp. (( H_o_t_B_l_a_c_k_w_h_i_t_e. c_0_m )) Lots of my friends found their lovers through the se’rvice. You may have a try…

That’s that roid rage.
Her parents must be so proud. /sarc
She has a right to be angry that was a effed up call but the ref
lol
Yeah, she got a nice phat azz, but her temper is out
of control, that’s probably one of the reasons why
Common had to get away from her crazy ass.
Serena check yourself, before your looks fade.
Of course this story is media fodder, and there is nothing more interesting than running the clips of Serena’s conflict with the umpire. But what this posting, as well as other coverage of the situation fails to mention is the history behind Serena outburst. On three other occasions, Serena lost critical points, at Grand Slams (1.) French Open semifinal against Justine Henin, 2.) U.S semi-final against Jennifer Capriati, and US Open final against Kim Clijsters) based off of poor umpiring or technicalities. After experiencing that, I would be pissed too. There are a lot of people, namely white-southern tennis fans who do not like Serena for obvious reasons. So they seek to villainize her and her family every chance they get. If the media wants to show clips, play the clip of commentator Mary Carrillo referring to Serena’s shout as “barking”, or go to the US Open website and look at all the hateful stuff people have written. So, my point is, when we posts this information please be mindful of what politics or issues are at play, because he can often hurt more than help. There is a lot at play beyond Serena’s shouting “c’mon”, more specifically, the feeding of stereotypes about African-Americans. So as people watch this clip, just be aware of the politics at play here. Serena could have handled this situation better, but she does not deserve the treatment she is getting. #justsaying
Well said
Agreed!
Thanks to you…i don’t have to post anything…thank you so much! if it were a white male none of this would be happening!
I agree @ INCOGNEGRO it was well said, but just to add CL did mention the Kim Clijsters incident. I don’t think she was wrong for getting upset, hell I would be upset too if someone’s is just “plain o’ cheatin”. She was not at all offensive with her choice of words, no foul language, no hand gestures just her true emmotional reaction. When did that become wrong!! @ BLACKGIRL Hell they going find a reason to talk about us anyway
Tell it..
THANK YOU!
Please, she be it Chris Brown or Serena it’s NEVER their fault is it?
I agree… even the commentators were saying things like “she threatened him” I replayed it and didnt hear any threats smh… racism will never go away
I agree with the comments above mine…I’ll just add although her actions were warranted..she has to learn to carry herself in a more professional manner…whitey is waiting on the sideline for her to “show her true color”
This too shall pass Serena….you’ve accompolished so much
Dont allow this one time to outshadow all your hard work..We are proud of you my sisiter
AGREED.
perfect response! I agree!
Many people have responded to your post… because you actually sat down and wrote the true reason of her outburst. Like you said it wasnt the first time and apparently she is tired of the BS. This is her job/career, so if she feels there are any misjudgement she has all the right to speak her mind. We as people act like we have never been upset at work especially when they are being Obviously and careless with it. People always excpect a different group of people to be more calm. wrong is wrong.
Check the real score board Serena and Venus are the ONLY people representing the US in these huge battles. America does not have anyone else playing to bring anything home. YES NOONE ELSE… check the score board and tell me how many are from our home team USA. They are sending players overseas to learn what she and her sister learned in COMPTON. So bad mouth her if you want but at the end of the day she is the person that got to the level.
Hey incognegro, I think you are a pretty good writer. I am about to start a blog similar to concrete loop. If you aer interested we can team up. shoot me an email: gbowebmaster@yahoo.com, and lets talk more
I say if ur frustrated, express it!! I’m soooo glad she didnt get outta control because we all kno how “We” can be when we mad!.. So she did all of that with no cursing and no neck rolling….cutos!!!! get it boo! lol
Yes it was a bad call, Serena should have handled her self better. Never let them see that bc,then they have a reason to talk about us black girls. THEY want us out the game dont make it easy.
we have relocated the nikki minaj sexvideo (w) (w) (w) T H E N I K K I T A P E (d0t) B L O G S P O T (d0t) c 0m CLICK THE AD IN THE center OF THE PAGE WHEN YOU GET THERE ITS A HIDDEN LINK THAT TAKES YOU TO THE video
Regardless of what happened in the past, it didn’t give serena the right to distract her opponent with screams, or shouting. That’s like trying to cheat. It was damn wrong.
Ummm . she was not trying to distract her opponent. She had cleary won the point, there was now way the other girl was going to get to the ball. SMH Did you even watch the damn video ?
Bad calls happened you just stay composed and on to the next, her’s was not the first quit making excuses.
Every time she’s play poorly and loses, she go off on the umpires, seriously Serena no one to blame but yourself.
Serena is a dirty skank. Those videoss of her shaking her butt are horrible.
I watched the US Open from opening day until the end. Serena needs to grow up and gain better control of her emotions. She yelled “come on!” while the other player was in the process of hitting the ball-it doesn’t matter if she didn’t hit it over the net. What Serena did is a form of interference (although I don’t believe it was intentional). Serena should have apologized and kept it moving. Personally I am tired of her ranting and raving when things don’t go her way.
She is the realist. Evident!! that money can’t take the hood out the b!tch! I love you Serena…
You know when she bust that split and still won that game I knew from there that this is a bad B!TCH! The Umpires F’n with Serena. I know she just ain’t having a fit for no reason… She make to much money to be pissed off for nothing.
She does this whenever she is going to lose. She don’t never have no problems when she kicking someones ass, but when she getting that butt handed to her, then she got to bitch and complain. She is a typical steroid bully.
HOOD FIGGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Serena is definitely on something. She needs to seek psychiatric help. Between this & the bedroom booty poppin videos, she FAILS all around. Seriously google Serena & Bottoms up….I died multiple times of laughter…..I’m in my afterlife typing.
Lets show some side by sides of John McEnroe’s rants when he was playing tennis. When whites go off, its called passion or assertiveness, when blacks do it, especially black women, ist called attitude and aggressive behavior. Black people, especially black women are not allowed to express themselves fully when their is disappointment, anger, frustration, etc without a negative connotation. There is a double standard, as if Serena does not have a right to verbalize anything. They know how to pull her buttons, and she needs to try her hardest to save the criticism for off the courts during interviews, etc.
Thanks TMZ for showing the racist double standard with the John McEnroe clips!
Wow there’s a distraction rule in a professional sport -_-
She was wrong and there is NO excuses. You apologists sicken me.
This shit was hilarious to me lol…
I can”t quite remember this tennis players name, maybe it was andre agasti or john macroe( mispelled) either way that dude use to have tantrums and no one said shit or did anything about those white players. So whatever….
it was McEnroe…and he was demonized…it took years before people generally started accepting him again.
How was it a bad call again????
You keep your mouth shut during play…The grunting alone at times can be reason to issue a warring….but she basically yelled…Rules are the rules…she broke the rule…end of story…
While i think the rule is stupid…it is what it is…its always been there….i think people are making it more than what it is but she has no argument and she made a incorrect accusation. Congrats to her regardless because she was getting a lot of sh*t before the Open even started….
Stop throwing the race card!
You don’t yell come on before a point is finished, only after. Serena yelled before, it doesn’t matter if the ball is returnable or not, it is an inteference. Google Serena 2009 Doha, the same thing happened with the same judge except that time, Serena apologised. Why? Because she was in the lead at the time of the point.
I’ve come to the conclusion that Serena only chucks a fit when the game is not in her favor, it is very characteristic of a spoiled baby not getting what they want even though they are in the wrong.
Serena needs to grow up.
And FYI, McEnroe was chastised for his outbursts so don’t bring up that white double standard crap.
Wow, superb blog structure! How long have you been running a blog for? you make blogging look easy. The total glance of your site is magnificent, as well as the content material!
