Singer/actress Queen Latifah, Keke Palmer & country music’s very own Dolly Parton are starring in an upcoming film this winter called Joyful Noise. In the musical dramedy, Latifah and Parton play two church choir members who share opposing views on how to take their little town choir to the top of a national gospel choir competition.
Palmer plays Queen Latifah’s daughter who later catches the eye of Parton’s grand-son, who also has some vocal chops of his own. Law & Order‘s Jesse L. Martin and Courtney B. Vance also co-star in the film.
Kind of reminds me of Sister Act, just without the nuns, Lauryn Hill and 90s outfits Lol Check out the trailer below. Joyful Noise hits movie theaters January 13, 2012.

Can you say cheesy?! This movie looks str8 to dvd. It will of course attract the church crowd as gullible as they are. I noticed King Latifah is a single mother. She makes sure to never have any love scenes with a man or be acting opposite one. At least she knows her limit.

Looks like a rehash of “The Fighting Temptations” but with whitefolk added for crossover appeal. I love Queen La, Dolly Parton, and thought Keke Palmer was great in “Akeelah and the Bee,” however this vehicle seems like it’ll be an odious waste of time for such talented people. Hated it. Next…

Lol about the church field trips. I’m not paying money to see this movie. Like everbody said it looks like another Sister Act and Sister Act 2.
Keke is a really good singer, but whatever tuning effect they used on her voice gives it a fake sound. They do the same thing with all the Glee recordings and I always hate it. As for the movie, it reminds me of Sister Act. I prefer to see Queen in something with more strength and range, like her role in Set It Off.
