The song is cool. I wish I could say the same for the video though. I read on some other blogs that Beyonce copied heavily from others for this video. Thank you for writing the lyrics. I know “what” she is saying but I still believe the lyrics are thrown together. Example “OOOoooooo damn I think I love that boy, do anything for that boy….Ooooooo” By the way, I am a huge Beyonce fan. She is really the only singer I listen to. I stand firm in believing that at a certain point, she can say anything because it will sell. I know people think this is a fabulous video, but please believe in her book of videos, this was probably one of the quick/effortless ones. It is different but I don’t think it’s anything special. She put on a couple outfits and they changed the colors…but I love Beyonce and will continue to support her.

People are constantly criticizing Beyonce. This video was innovative, she channels Audrey Hepburn (whom she has said was one of her influences) and a scene from the show, ‘Fame’. It’s very retro and if half of you knew just how much the present samples the past you would appreciate the creative risks that Beyonce has taken. BTW, I am not a huge Beyonce fan but, I can respect her creative gusto!
