VIDEO: NICKI MINAJ ROCKS DREDS & DROPS ‘FEMALE WEEZY’ PSA

Nicki Minaj, Birdman & Lil Wayne dropped a behind-the-scenes video from the set of their new music video, “Y.U. Mad”. In the clip, the Pink Friday rocked a new hair doo – blonde dreads. All I wanna know is…Who is making this woman’s wigs?! They are putting in work!

Minaj also dropped a public service announcement video on Tuesday evening (Oct 17), where she continues playing the female version of the Young Money leader, showing the world that she is “The Female Weezy.” Kinda funny Lol Peep both videos after the jump. Continue

EVENTS: 2011 BLACK GIRLS ROCK! AWARDS

On Saturday, October 15th, many notable black celebrity women came out to support the 2011 Black Girls Rock Awards! The star-studded event was held at the famed Paradise Theater in Bronx, New York. Co-hosted by Tracee Ellis Ross and Regina King, artists like Mary J. Blige, Mary Mary, Melanie Fiona, Estelle and Elle Varner stepped on stage to perform their latest singles and fan favorites.

Shirley Caesar, Taraji P. Henson, Angela Davis, Malika Saada Saar & Tatyana Ali and others were 2011 honorees. Check out the gallery below and see who else popped up to show support for the annual ceremony.

Black Girls Rock!, Inc. is a nonprofit organization started by model/DJ/philantrophist Beverly Bonds (top left), that is dedicated to building the self-esteem and self-worth of young women of color by changing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, exposing them to creative and performing arts, and helping them to empower themselves.

The Black Girls Rock! awards show will air on Sunday, November 6 at 8/7pm CST on BET.
