With the 2012 presidential election just over a year away, President Barack Obama should be focusing his efforts on his re-election campaign. However, the president is instead concentrating on getting the American Jobs Act passed, which he unveiled to Congress in September, and has hit the road to stress that “we can’t wait for an increasingly dysfunctional Congress to do its job”.
On Monday, Pres. Obama traveled to Las Vegas to kick off his new effort to convince Congress, namely Republicans, to put country before party and pass the Jobs Act. He also did a bit of campaigning before heading to Los Angeles later in the day, where, on Tuesday, he’ll make his fourth appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
While in Las Vegas, where home values have fallen by more than 50 percent over the last five years, the president announced a plan to allow millions of homeowners to refinance their mortgages with lower interest rates and cheaper payments. The Obama Administration says “this will help responsible borrowers with little or no equity in their homes take advantage of today’s low mortgage rates”.
After arriving in Los Angeles, the president attended two Hollywood fundraisers for his campaign hosted by Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith and Eva Longoria with tickets costing up to the legal maximum of $35,800 per person.
President Obama will next travel to San Francisco and Denver before returning to Washington on Wednesday. He is expected to announce measures to help students better manage their student loan debt when they graduate.

With a Congress like the present one where the Republicans propagandize, bamboozled and lied to win their constituents, “rode into Washington on their high horses” with one aim, and one aim in mind – to make Pres. Obama a one-term president and an extreme right-wing libertarian agenda, so-called “ideology”. Yeah, its enough to give one a heart attack. This President WILL stay strong and NEEDS to win another term. God forbid a Republican wins the presidency, there r about two supreme court justices, b/c of aging r likely to retire. They would surely be replaced by extreme right wing judges who will lay out a plan already set in motion to set this country gravely back and take away the gains that were made from the civil rights era. Trust me, thats the biggest fear of all. This President needs to win again.

Why haven’t they passed the jobs bill
Because
1. The Republicans dont want to give the President “a win”.
So, EVERY Senate Republican and two Democrats (Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Jon Tester of Montana) blocked this American jobs bill that would have employed 400,000 americans with jobs.

2. All Republicans signed a pledge that they would not agree to pass any bill that would have the very rich pay THEIR FAIR SHARE of taxes. This tax would be revenue for the government that would help for putting americans back to work.
3. The bill that went before the Senate for a vote needed 60 votes to pass but fell short of this number, and so the bill failed.
NOTE: No time in U.S. History has there been a record number of filibusters as there has been for this President allowing many of his proposals to be shut down.
The Republican-controlled House do not intend on passing anything this president proposes, PERIOD! Thats my belief and political pundits AND politicians call the Republicans and Democrats as having a philosophy that is based in the parties’ Ideology or more rightly “ideology”. However, this group of Republicans in Congress r the most RIGID group EVER!!!!!!!
He needs to work harder, because I haven’t seen him do anything. Other than go on vacation trips with his family. How come the gas prices are so high in the fall?
