Allow me to introduce to you Daley, an up and coming singer/songwriter from Manchester, England, who spent his teenage years honing his craft and recording tracks in his bedroom while listening to artists such as Imogen Heap, Jill Scott, Maxwell and Prince for inspiration.
After moving to London last year at the age of 21, Daley began building a name for himself performing in clubs and caught the attention of Damon Albarn, frontman for The Gorillaz, who watched Daley’s performance of Maxwell’s “Pretty Wings” (see video below).

Earlier this year, Daley released a mixtape aptly titled Those Who Wait (available for free), which includes “Alone Together”, a collaboration with fellow UK export Marsha Ambrosius. He is currently working on a debut album, so you can be on the lookout for this rising star.

Reminds me of Allen Stone (google him), right down to the glasses and weird style, but Allen Stone is way more soulful in my opinion. I can also hear a little Robin Thicke in his voice.
THANK YOU for hipping me to Allen Stone. I Googled like you said and was AMAZED by him. I love that he looks like the blonde version of Frank from “30 Rock” and then he opens his mouth and sounds like the second coming of Robin Thicke. If anyone else cares to look him up, Youtube him. I highly recommend his version of “Is This Love”. He absolutely, unequivocally KILLS that sh*t.

I think he has a marvelous voice and “Spent” wasn’t boring to me at all. I found it melancholy and soothing. I downloaded his mixtape because I like the Brits and their soulful cadence and it’s like a different interpretation for me to hear them sing. He has a very melodic voice and his collob with Marsha was lovely.

Honestly, I enjoy 90% of the songs on the mixtape. His sound is indeed very refreshing admist the bland & manufactured music out there. The lyrics are especially deep. I find myself saying “my, my, my” when I listen to the lyrics. For example, Smoking Gun is dark but beautifully written and sung. “Those Who Wait” is simply inspirational and Game Over makes me swoon. Thank you CL!!!
