Eddie Murphy will be starring in another comedic next year. In the new film, A Thousand Words, Murphy plays a literary agent by the name of Jack McCall, who is prone to telling lies to get what he wants. One day, he tells a lie to a spiritual leader named Dr. Sinja (Cliff Curtis) about getting a book published. As a result, the New Age guru puts a Bondi tree on his property, to teach McCall a valuable lesson about the consequences of every word he speaks. Each time he talks, a leaf falls off of the tree. When all the leaves are gone, McCall and the tree die.
It kind of reminds me of the movie Liar, Liar and Doctor Dolittle, but with a twist. Kerry Washington plays Murphy’s wife and John Witherspoon plays a blind man trying to cross the street. This movie is said to hit theaters in March 23, 2012. In the mean time, check out the trailer below!
