According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, our community is the most affected by HIV with an estimated 1 in 16 black men and 1 in 32 black women who will be diagnosed with HIV infection.
Today, on World AIDS Day, let’s do something to change those stats for the better. Help spread the word on how we can stop the spread of HIV, the virus that causes AIDS: Abstain from sex, Be faithful to a single partner and use a Condom each and every time you have sex. It’s imperative that we get educated, get tested, get treated and get involved!

The video clip that you show should also have the faces of young and older African American males and females of all socio-economic backgrounds. The clip gives the false impression of that AIDS is only a 3rd world country disease.

Having read the stats from that CDC link, the situations is very depressing.
I wanted to write something uplifting, but those figures have left me stupefied.
I think it’s time we re-evaluate ourselves.
Black women, of all heterosexuals, our by far bearing the biggest impact of HIV.
It always takes two when it come to HIV; but black women are def more vulnerable to partners who are secretly engaged in high risk activity (i.e. a disproportionate number of black men who are not monogamous and/or engaged in high-risk sexual activity such as unprotected sex and having sex with men).
I think black women need to heed this information and take EXTRA precaution because clearly there’s something not right in our community. NEVER HAVE SEX WITHOUT A CONDOM if you are not married. PERIOD
This is pure junk science. I can’t even believe you guys think that AIDS by Design is higher in the Black communities than any other places. I’m telling you this is what’s depressing.
