some say rhi is not the best vocalist, but she sings well enough, she has her own signature style, that has universal appeal. don’t always have to be a powerhouse vocalist to make music that people enjoy. some of the musical performers that have had longevity, were not always the best vocalist, ex. mick jagger and other rock groups, but they’re still going strong. she always comes out with songs that are catchy. never have heard her live, but if she delivers as well as on her recordings, that’s good enough. she has definitely found her niche in the music industry and running like hell with it. go rhi!

It’s a sad state in music and our culture to say “R&B is dead”. R&B spawned so many other genres of music. Rhythm and blues is truly our music because it came from our souls. It’s something you must feel and something that moves you. Others embraced it too, they felt the same vibes and rhythms, but because it is *our* music, other people wanted to water it down, disassociate it from us, and morph it into something else more “palatable” for the masses. So you have “pop” music. Now people want to act like “R&B” is a dirty label (I see you Frank Ocean!), and don’t want to be called R&B artists.
