Remember the original Aunt Viv on the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air back in the day? Well actress Janet Hubert has NOT gotten over how she was fired off the popular 90s television sitcom. Above all, she is still holding her grudge against actor Will Smith and according to TMZ, she still resents Smith after all these years:
There will never be a reunion … as I will never do anything with an a**hole like Will Smith. He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up. This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn’t know the word.
Damn. According to Aunt Viv, Will turned on her and got her fired in the middle of the show’s run for not feeding his ego or behaving in a groupie-like manner. Just last week, a majority of the Fresh Prince cast reunited at a charity event, with the exception of Hubert (of course), Daphne Reid (the 2nd Aunt Viv) and Joseph Marcell (the butler, Geoffrey) missing from the picture. Singer-songwriter Bei Maejor dropped a new track entitled “The Truth,” a song about a man finally coming clean about messing around with his friend’s girlfriend and getting her pregnant. I love how the main character says that she tried to come between their brotherly relationship. I see how he’s trying to be slick by placing more of the blame on her. Umm it takes two to tango…Hello! LOL Anyway let me not go on my rant…check out the track!

In fact, earlier this month a Stanford Law professor by the name of Ralph Richard Banks spoke of the marriage deficit in the black community and concluded in his book, Is Marriage for White People?, that the 70% of black women who are unmarried would be better off stepping outside of the black community for love:
“Many women would do well to expand their options in the same way people of other races have, and look beyond black men in their search for a partner,” Stanford law professor Ralph Richard Banks told “Nightline.” “Black women are the most segregated group in our society when it comes to relationships.” (READ STORY)
In the entertainment world, some celebrities like model Iman (who is married to singer David Bowie) and others have been able to successfully hold a long-lasting relationship/marriage.
One couple that has been able to stand the test of time as an interracial couple is actress Paula Patton and Robin Thicke. The singer spoke about the 18-year ups and downs of being with his woman of color and what he thinks about the media telling black women to date white men: Continue
