With a few weeks left in the year, 2012 will soon begin with a brand new season of two returning BET sitcoms – The Game & Let’s Stay Together. As far as The Game, it has been announced that Brandy will be joining the cast, with other celebrities like NeNe Leakes, Estelle, DeRay Davis and Selita eBanks making guest appearances. Below is a little synopsis of what’s to come:
“Melanie (Tia Mowry Hardrict) contends with Derwin’s (Pooch Hall) abortion accusation; Malik (Hosea Chanchez) and Tasha (Wendy Raquel Robinson) struggle to wrangle an intoxicated Jenna (Tika Sumpter); and Kelly (Brittany Daniel) is still off in the world trying to find herself, leaving Jason (Coby Bell) forced to come to terms with his feelings towards Black women.”
Following the season premiere of The Game, Let’s Stay Together will begin with it’s newest cast addition, Kyla Pratt. A week after she announced her new role, a short summary of the first episode was released as well:
“The first episode will answer the big question of what happened at Stacy (Nadine Ellis) and Charles’ (Bert Belasco) wedding from the cliffhanger in last season’s finale, and why he left her standing at the altar. Additionally, Tasha (Joyful Drake) and Jamal (RonReaco Lee) will have their marriage tested by former relationships and other temptations while Charles and Stacy continue to explore the ups and downs of making coupledom work. In season two, life becomes even more complex when Kita (Erica Hubbard) is inspired to go on a reality show a la Survivor and asks her cousin Crystal (Kyla Pratt) to house sit in her absence.” [Source]

Does BET have budget issues or something. They seriosly couldnt get them seperate sets for their promo pics. And I’m tired of black people not being able to have one thing or another. If we have a comedy it can’t just be comedy. U have to throw a whole mess of drama in there and turn it into a 1/2 hr soap opera. That’s how they messed up the Game in the first place. It’s a comedy. Keep it that way.
I don’t know how old you are, but I am in my thirties.. I say this to say, I’ve seen plenty of sitcoms come and go.. The game is trying something new. I’ve seen every sitcom situation there could ever be… The locked in the basement episodes,the locked out on the patio episodes,the handcuffed together episodes,the mother in law coming over episodes…they have all been done from “Make Room For Daddy,”The Jeffersons” to the “Parkers”… This is how the writers of this show and Girlfriends do. Sometimes you can find comedy in drama. “White People” call it “black humor/ comedy” LOL
I love everybody on the cast, but I honestly wish they had Kelly back on the show. At firs I was like she’s just a shallow insecure little cheerleader reject, but then as she grew in herself I grew to love her character and then she lost it again, and now it’s back to step one. Now that Jason is back on point, I want Jason and Kelly corrected to find their way back to each other slowly but surely.
Also, ima need the old little brit-bratt to come back because I just can’t warm up to the new Brittany for some reason. She’s a pretty good actor but I just didn’t see the new girl playing that part.
The abortion situation was interesting, I hope Melanie really didnt kill Derwin’s baby, and I know it was wrong, but most likely she’s pregnant or going to get pregnant by Derwin now so that should give her a new start. But I feel like he’s going to hold that over her head and be a jerk to her this season. But judging from half the crap he put her through as well, obviously he really doesn’t have much room. Therefore I see why Melanie was hating on Janae, she’s doing something that Melanie couldn’t do before. Be woman enough to take care of a baby.
Tasha Mac needs to find her a real man this season. I don’t know whatever happened to Rick Foxx, but he needs to take her back. Obviously she still has feelings for him due to the fact that she stood Dante up just to be with him. She needs to find true love because that dumb Chauncey messed her up for real. Don’t no-one need to be that bitter. Especially not with all that money. I would be like BET need to hook her up with Dante but all she gunna do is use him for company and then play his face because her heart belongs to rick.
T.T needs to be back on the show too because he was the highlight of my day. He always got something cute and funny to say and I think that he’s mad humorous, and I hope he makes it to the big time one day. The wing business just ain’t cutting it.
I hope Malik isn’t still acting like a donkey. I hated him last season. At least when the series was a comedy, he seemed tough on the outside but a sweetie on the inside, but then they turned him into a cold-hearted jerk. I hope he keeps his fame up, but I do hope it shifts with his personality. He needs to go back to the old days.
