After starting off the first season of Single Ladies with 2.8 million views, the VH1 popular hit series is getting ready to start off season 2 with a new face. Now that Stacy Dash has moved on, her replacement has finally be announced. Former All My Children actress Denise Vasi will be stepping in to play Raquel, a close friend of LisaRaye McCoy’s character, Keisha. According to a released press release:
Raquel is a savvy business woman from a prominent Southern family on a quest to discover passion. Vasi’s recent credits include roles in films “When in Rome” and “What’s Your Number,” and television roles including HBO’s “How to Make it in America,” USA’s “White Collar” and ABC’s “All My Children” among others.
“Denise is the perfect addition to the ‘Single Ladies’ cast,” said Flavor Unit Entertainment Executive Producer Queen Latifah. “She is bringing a fun, new element to the show.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Denise to the cast of ‘Single Ladies,’” said Jeff Olde, EVP Original Production and Programming, VH1. “It was a rare and wonderful moment during the audition when everyone in the room immediately knew we had found our ‘Raquel.’ Denise’s beauty, style, grace and humor leap from the screen and we can’t wait to share her with our viewers and fans of the show.”
Season 2 of Single Ladies will begin filming in Atlanta, Georgia at the top of 2012, with a premiere date set for early summer 2012.

I wouldn’t consider Denise a no name…She’s been on All My Children for years as Angie Hubbard’s daughter in law. I think it’s a good move for her, especially after ABC ousted All My Children after 41 years.
May watch the first episode to see how its being played out. But the only reason I really watched was because of Stacey! I am interested to see how they going to carry on being that 80% of the show waa filmed in Val’s store. I cant knock it until I see it though even if I am skeptical. They may find a good way to make it work.
I will still watch but Stacey will be missed. I think her decision to leave was very foolish. Just one man’s opinion.

You can’t compare… Med School is half of the Davis team,,take away Med School,you have to take away Derwin… Mr.Brown…HELLO the show is called “Meet the Browns”. Mr.Brown is the core of the show.. Val was not the focus point of the show.

And some of you need to stop acting like this show was poppin in the begining. It took some warming up to. People just started watching it towards the end. I bet no one will notice a difference,unless this girl can REALLY act. IDK, never saw her before. But she fits the petite,grey eyes role perfectly. I like the story line of the show, so I will continue to watch.

I will mos def be watching. I do believe they should have just replaced Val’s character and not added a character. To keep the group’s unity and close bond. This is one of my fave shows however and like I said I will be tuned in Summer of ’12!!

I thought it was nice to see 2 competitive divas both playing good roles in Single Ladies. They both added a different flavor to the show and made it what it was. I don’t watch Soaps, never heard of Denise Vasi, but I will be glued to the tube because I am a fan. I just hope Denise is all of what Stacy was. Damn I also hoped to see the outcome of Quin, Jerry, and Val. Now it seems like sex with no climax. Darn Darn Darn LOL

Everyone wanted to see Val step outside the box… And catch a man..that’s all. If this girl’s character is “stuffy” or needs pointers from Lisa’s character,it would move forward with no second guessing.
Neither Lisa or Stacey are good actresses, I think the role of Val could’ve been easily replaced…I like the storyline but it wouldn’t hurt to get people who can actually act including replacing the role of Malcom and Keisha!

This show is doomed the ratings will decrease after the first episode, not wanting it to fail, just saying when you get rid of the MAIN character (i don’t believe Stacey left, I believe the rumors, LisaRaye looks like a hot mess), everything else will crumble….time will tell

Wow some of you people dont pay much attention to what you read, The new girl is NOT playing Val, stacy dash’s character. she is playin a whole new role, Val has to be in at least the the first and second episodes of the new season, Im sure the show will suck without Stacy Dash, cause no matter what all of you say, Val’s character & situations were carrying the show… Then Lisa Rayes character, then Blondie….and neither of them can act worth a lick. !

It was a good show, took a little time to get it going. All the ladies gave something to the show it was not one person. LisaRaye’s character was most interesting to me as the other character part may have been more interesting to others. Sure they could have replaces Val’s character with anyone else in the business. A fresh new face gets a chance to shine so be it. Acting has got to be one of the hardest damn jobs with the exception of a waitress. Can’t please everyone. I wish them all luch. Will continue to watch.
I loved the show mainly cause of the great casting of stacy, Lisa and the white chic, now that they are swapping stacy, I don’t feel excited for the 2nd season anymore. I came to google it cause tonight basketball wives comes on and after it I always watch single ladies. After reading this article, am not interested anymore, but I will watch the first episode to see how i truely feel

I won’t be watching the show. I will watch to see how they phase Val’s character out but thats it. I really only watched it because of Stacey Dash character story line. I’m sure they will be successful without me watching and I hope they are. I look forward to seeing Stacey Dash in her upcoming projects. She represents for us 40+ women and she brought a level of class and sophistication to the show that LisaRaye just cannot do. I’m not hating on LisaRaye but she’s not on Stacey’s level at all. The show was definitely better with Stacey on it.

Denise Vasi is one of the soap actors with no talent .Block of wood is more like it. I always fast forwarded through all her scenes. Because she is a tremendously TERRIBLE actress. For reals. Terrible. Monotone, flat, boring. Just terrible. Ive never seen such a horrible talentless girl. I heard she sleeps with men in the industry to land these roles. She has ZERO talent. Her acting shouldn’t be aloud in a school play. Watching her TRY so desperately to act is worst than Hurricane Katrina…Makes want to poke myself in the eye with a needle. She will never be Stacy
Well I thought I will at least watch the second episode to be sure. I could not watch it. I miss Val’s character very much. The acting is not the best but it is still very entertaining. Well I guess I will have to find another show.

The show has gone to the shits. The acting is terrible! If not this season, by next season this show will be no more, unless they do something drastic!
