Alicia Keys and her hubby Swizz Beatz dropped by the Mr. Brainwash Life is Beautiful art exhibition during their time on the West coast. The artistic displays included larger than life installations like a 20-foot robot made of old television sets and some colorful spray-painted street art.
The singer-songwriter took to her Tumblr page and documented photos from their inspiring experience. Check out some photos from the cool exhibit visit after the jump!
Went to the Mr. Brainwash exhibit today at 960 N Labrea. If your in the LA area you should absolutely go! It’s like a fantasy! Huge installations of everything u can imagine from oversized polaroid cameras to cars shoved into a hole. Huge 10 foot tall spray cans and Darth Vador made out of tires and one of my personal favorites, his crazy cool broken record series where iconic pictures are made out of broken records. I drive by the building where they’re having this on my way home from work and I was wondering what was going on in there. The building is normally vacant and is covered in graffiti. I drove by the other night and there was this fenced off area behind it that was all lit up and there were 3 cars piled on top of each other made to look like an accident I guess, a giant spray can and a giant lit up Santa. It looked pretty creepy an surreal especially since I had no idea what the hell it was or why it was there. The cars in particular were a bit un-nerving. I guess that was the point though. Might be cool to see the inside and the rest of it. I’m happy the LA art scene is starting to grow. I went to “Art In The Streets”, the big street/graffiti exhibit that was here a few months ago and it was incredible.
Two questions, why were you clueless about the fact that the exhibit was going on? Second, why were the cars so “unnerving”? Really? Get out more.

Having seen ‘Exit through the gift shop’, I am surprised at how successful Mr. Brainwash continues to be. Kudos to him for successfully brainwashing the art aficionados. Oh, Hey Alicia and Swiss.
