After news broke about Seal and Heidi Klum‘s decision to divorce, the “Kiss From A Rose” singer dropped by the Ellen Degeneres Show and opened up about the reality of their decision to split after 6 years of marriage. The 48-year-old singer also shared what he has learned and why he hasn’t taken off his wedding band:
Yes, I am still wearing my ring. I think that is pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have 8 years – 8 wonderful years together. And Just because we have decided to separate doesn’t necessarily mean that you take off your ring and you’re no longer connected to that person. We will be connected in many ways for the rest of our lives, through our children and also through this tremendous kind of admiration and respect and love that we have for each other. Now whether we’d wear the ring for the rest of our lives, who know. But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand, so I’m not going to take it off any time soon.
For the sake of their 4 children, Seal went on to share how he and Heidi plan to go about their divorce civilly and with dignity and respect. Above all, their split will not be messy like your typical celeb couple break up. Peep the clip below.

I still dunno why celebs feel the need to send out statements or have interviews when they get divorced. Why do that?? Okay, i understand sending a confirmation (even though that’s still extra) just to clear speculation but an interview?? Hopefully they discussed his music at some point at least & not just to be all in his personal business.

I’m fairly young, 24 yrs old and I’ve never been in a relationship. But I believe the reason why people are splitting up so much these days is because when things get tough they don’t want to deal with it. And these days women are making their own money so they don’t have to stay in a relationship because they don’t have any chose. Marriage isn’t a game and it isn’t suppose to be pleasant all the time. But that’s marriage its tough sometimes, that life.

Very true.. This is how it should be but currently marriage is viewed as a grand gesture, Saying “I love this person tremendously in addition to me and my life.” Which is very egomatic. I feel like divorce/seperation somewhat has to boil down to sex or something selfish. Especially when money isnt the problem. How can you admire and love someone for so long and not fall more in love with them. Even with differences. IDK *shrug*
I hope there is more. Becauase to divorce because you’re growing apart is ridiculous. I don’t know what people are looking for when they get married. You’re supposed to grow and grow old together. Are these old ass celebs divorcing so that they can chase younger prey. It’s crazy.
A few bad days, weeks, even months are inevitable in any marriage. But in todays society we thinks it’s easier to quit than to fight for the vows that you made before GOD! Don’t say I do… If you don’t plan on fighting for I do.

I’m super sad to hear that they’re taking a break (they always came off as a super loving couple), but if what Heidi’s saying is true that his temper is out of control and it’s affecting the children, then maybe it is time to take a breather and regroup.

Interesting Thoughts, I as in class and I was slicing some lino and the tool i was using was very sharp and it slipped and i ended up stabbing the tip of my finger. When i did it started bleeding a fair bit so i think it is kinda deep for a cut in the finger.
I did this 3 days ago and it hasn’t sealed over yet, it’s still split open. When I look at it under a light i can see a small ‘v’ shape to prove it hasn’t sealed yet, but i think it has begun healing from the inside and slowly getting less deep.

Guap, Thank you! I’m married 22 years and I’m sitting here reading these comments thinking “ain’t none of these fools even married and yet, they gotta weigh in on marriage”. People change. Point blank. The things that are a priority, thrill, goal etc for you today will most likely change over the years. After more than 2 decades marriage, one 2 year separation and more highs and lows than I can remember, I’m tired and want out. I still love my spouse but I don’t like him that much and I don’t think he likes me that much either. It’s more like we view each other as an old book. We’ve read the book from front to back. It’s a good book. A classic. Looks impressive sitting on the bookshelf in our comfortable home but we no longer turn its pages because we know what it’s about already. We just like having it around. Occasionally we pick the book up, dust it off and look at the cover but that’s as far as it gets. Back on the shelf. I want someone to turn my pages because they can’t wait to see what happens next. I’m ready for the sequel to be written. I just don’t see my spouse as being much of a participant in that process.
