I am very happy to see this, BET should take notes. Put some sh*t on that will educate and inform and help lift us. I dont give a f**** what the newish hip hop dance is, I dont give a f**** to watch all the low budget hood movies they continually play on BET. Shame on them, thank you TV1

I applaud the creators of this show. It is much needed and long overdue for attention. It’s just too bad it can’t be shown on an even bigger platform, but I guess that is to be expected.

Wonderful and overdue, but it’s happening finally. We’ve needed this for so long because our missing just does not receive the same attention.

Bianca Jones here in Detroit is one of the many black children missing. I dont know how I would go on living if one of my kids were to come up missing.

    ok

much needed, maybe having this show on tvone will spur discussion about why missing black/brown/yellow people/children are never hardly oovered/talked about on national tv shows/channels.

While i have to agree, sometimes it only takes a little effort to get things rolling in the right direction. I thoroughly applaud TV One for this!!!

Well, i’m black and I don’t have to just watch a show to see people fighting. I hate when people make generalized statements.

    • The reason son people do not watch TV one is because of their tv package. I have Verizon and I have to pay extra for that station. Things are tight right now and some folks can not afford to pay that price. So stop coming down on people. Sounds like a fight on line. If you are one who really has a problem with that, start a group and try to get TV one as a regular channel instead of an add on. Now that would be a fight. Then when you comment next time, stick to the story and help find our missing.

It’s about time we have a show like this, to focus on missing people of color. Like I get sick and tired of the national media talking about missing white people. Why don’t the national media cover all missing people and not just focus on missing white people so much? And I’ll be watching this show every week.

This is the type of program Oprah should have on her network in stead of all that celebrity ish. She needs more programming that people can relate to.

Hi My name is Vickie Partin and I saw the promo for the new series Find Our Missing starting Jan 18th, I am very disturbed by the remarks by the host of the new series. I am a 50 year old grandmother to a Bi-Racial 5 yr old girl. She has been raised to respect everyone regardless of COLOR. The way the host worded the comment of ‘People of Color’ that are missing there is no truth to that statement at all. I thought we had grown past that type of thinking for our children and grandchildren. Please rethink the format of this series and make to honor all races and not start the thinking again as it was so long ago of destinguishing between people because of color. We are all people and we should only comment on that not Our People are being left behind or not treated like they matter because of color. I am american indian and look what promises were made to my people. Now saying those last few words there are hard because that is no way to think or believe. Please respond back to me when possible. Thank you and Love to all People and lets care about everyone the same no difference which is what african american’s have always wanted and I believe we have done that haven’t we.

Whether she said our ppl or ppl of color, its a true statement, my brother has been missing for almost 3 years & despite the tireless efforts, he has not been posted or spoke of on not ONE media outlet 2 date. Maybe I’m bias because it’s my brother, but i have 2 agree & tho my brother is 100% African American, I’m bi-racial & don’t have a racist bone in my body, but its plain black & white (no pun intended)

I think the wording is appropriate. Will any of you guys that have an issue with the fact that this is about our missing African American please call up Nancy Grace and ask her to profile and protest so vehemently for our little black children who go missing just as often as the “other” kids….

This is a great series and a long over due one. In order to keep Hasanni Campbell’s story alive we did everything to make the news, from fundraisers to searches to new conferences. TV1 has really hit the mark with this one and I believe that cases will be solved as a result of this show. Thank you to all involved in this project.

If this show was about finding white ppl then it would be considered racist, just like if there was a station called white entertainment television, or a dating site whitepeoplemeet.com. It’s sad

I think this is an amazing idea for a tv show. I am so sad for the circumstance that make it necessary but am very happy to see someone acknowledging it’s necessity. I actually rarely watch tv one but I will be tuning in to see this. I am not trying to be rude or demean the missing of other races but the fact is race absolutely impacts the way the missing are (if) reported to the public. I watch Dissapeared ( investigation discovery) ALL the time and of the multiple episodes that have been on ONLY 2 of the missing have been Black. Look at all the missing who were listed above I guarantee you, you will see none of them on Dissapeared. And I understand every white person who goes missing will not get a Dissapeared episode but in the seasons it has been on I am alarmed at the OBVIOUS preference given to non-blacks. Of the names listed above I was only aware of 2 of them and I am both deeply disturbed and angry at the lack of attention they are given. To everyone who says shows like this will further divide races all I have to ask you is when was the last time a black mother was given a show on Lifetime in the same way that Beth Halloway was?

I agree that missing people is a hughe concern for everybody, but why do we continue to have to segrgate races, religons and everyother differance that we all have? By stating thats its only “OUR PEOPLE”, people of color are still seperating themselves from others and then turn around and say everyone else seperates colors out and treats them differently. We had a lost African American boy in my town and people of all races worked, prayed and cried over the fact he was never found, it made national TV for years, but recently we lost a white female school teacher and no one outside our city knows anything about her. So its not only Blacks that get lost along the way. Whites care about Blacks too! Believe it or not. Shame on anyone who thinks that color means anyone is better or less than anyone else!

So does that mean that blacks aren’t apart of the human race? Because by the way they are calling the show ‘Find OUR People’ makes it seem that way. This show should be about all ethnic groups! We’re all Americans and they should treat us that way! I’ve seen many colored folks on tv and I’ve had a friend go missing and I NEVER saw her on the news and she was as white as a sheep’s wool! MAKE THIS SHOW ABOUT EVERY RACE IN AMERICA!

I am a 61 year old white grandmother, and do not care what color children are. If they are missing we the people all people need Amber alerts out there and news coverage so we
can help find all our missing children. there are so many deranged killers and pedifiles in our world that it is up to us to help all our little ones . This is an amazing show,
and look forward to it and will help. Maybe we need to get
this show to make all the hype news station take note. I would much rather help with missing children than I would see how Lindsey lowhand spent her day in court or all the bull stories of these stars. If everyday the news would show atleast the pictures of these kids then maybe we could get some of them back and catch the creeps that took them.
